Article about a gift watch Lucian received.

Lucian Bute received yesterday, for his performances,a watch valued at 15000 euros from Cristian Ionita, the owner of Micro Gold company.
''I promise that for every belt won I''ll make him a personalized watch'' said Ionita. The watch the boxer received is manufactured by the Swiss producer Chopard,it's part of the sport series 1000 Miglia, dedicated to a famous reace competition taking place in Italy, and the model is named Grand Tourism XL and it costs over 15000 euros.
''Altough I'm not a collector,I''ll gladly wear it'' said Bute who also talked about his future.
''Tomorrow I''ll be leaving because I have to start training again for my next fight, which will be on april 17th.I don't know yet who I''ll be fighting but I'm sure it's gonna be somebody out of Pavlik,Hopkins,Miranda or Stieglitz. There were some talks with Hopkins,an opponent liked by HBO.''

I'm glad that at least the date is settled. Interbox doesn't want Bute inactive like last year.

Bute seems sure his opponent will be one of the following four: Pavlik, Hopkins, Miranda and Stieglitz. That could be very good: Hopkins (and Bute said there were talks with him and HBO wants him), Pavlik. That could be good: Stieglitz, mainly for his belt. That could be ok: Miranda (he's known in USA and would be a point of comparison with Ward).

Of course, if HBO wants to fight Showtime on April the 17th, it must be Hopkins or Pavlik. If it's Stieglitz or Miranda, it has to be the semi-final of the night. Well, I think so. We should be settled in a couple of weeks I guess.

Thanks for the stories Cubex. It's appreciated.

Would be damn incredible if he would get to fight a legend of the sport like Hopkins. That would be unreal, even if he losses.

Personally I think it's gonna be Miranda. And he's gonna go 3-0,3 KOs vs Colombians.

But you gotta find another big fight for the card to go on the same night as Showtime's Super Six.

True but not his problem is it?

We will see.Chris John is suppose to defend his title in april but I believe he will do it in Indonezia.

Maybe Pavlik-Martinez?:yep The place would be full in Montreal and Pavlik, even if he doesn't fight in Altantic City or NY, would make, as the maineventer, a bundle and prepare a Pavlik-Bute for later in the year.

I like the idea. The two fights don't have to be at the same place, do they?
Pavlik could fight in USA, Bute at the Bell Center.

I didn't think of that. Good idea. A Pavlik-Martinez & Bute-Miranda fight could certainly go against the Super Six.

Bute should be in the tournament, but they will never allow him to be in it, he's simply too good.

In the interview, Larouche says Bute's next opponent could be announced in a few days.

Pantera, do you have some inside for us?

All I can say is talks are going on, but far from anything concrete. I dont see anyway Stieglitz will go to Montreal. Hopkins wont fight him. Pavlik wont fight him, at least for now. All roads lead to Miranda, unless I am missing something.

On the other side, if Interbox doesn't step up and make something happen quickly, they could lose Miranda as an opponent since I know they are also talking to Universaum to possibly reschedule the canceled fight with Stieglitz.
If this happens I think Bute is really screwed for April 17th and wont have a good enough opponent for HBO's likings.

    Thanks.

I also think Miranda will be visiting Montreal in April.

In an article in today's Libertatea a picture with Lucian's ''trphys'' surfeced.

It says it was done somewhere around the Christmas Holidays in a hote lroom where the 2 hanged out.

Elena Aprozeanu-Lucian's girlfriend seemed very happy to pose with the champs belt.
Bute is back in Canada and has started training for the next fight.

Any word on who he is fighting? Something tells me it could be Sakio Bika? I mean, he pulled out of the Green fight for no apparent reason, and is ranked #4 by IBF. So i guess it is between Miranda, Bika or Brinkley/Stevens? Someone got any info?
