Didn't say they made up this thing; but maybe they let the doctors go ahead and leak some scary speculations. That's didn't hurt them, but scared a few fans and made some haters react; some noise was good after FMJ-Cotto (moustache) if people know about it may they'd buy for a month Epix
Yes and no. Yes, things like that may happen. You had once (at least) a similar problem, I had (more than once) problems with my toes. The main difference is that we weren't putting at risk a top sport activity by eventual acute toe skin problems and we didn't have any peculiar reason to carefully monitor the state of the skin. As far as I could understand, Bute's medical problem was the ultimate consequence of him buying a pair of new sport shoes for training: that's fine, but everybody should be aware that new shoes might easily lead to blisters. The least thing to do would have been to take off shoes say every 15 minutes (especially since Lucian should have felt some discomfort if not incipient pain) and see what's going on. As a personal habit, when going for some serious mountain trekking I always wrap with some patch the sensible parts of the toes and I no longer develop heavy blisters: one cannot afford to ruin the good functionality of the legs during the trip. The blister doesn't form in 5 minutes or so of training, one can feel it coming and one has to prevent it to get into a state urging medication: in fewer words, the serious damage is avoidable. Bute's team considered à la légère the new shoes and their hurting of Lucian's toes, that's why I am criticizing them. It's puzzling to see they managed to get a 100% realistic Rachel yell (actually any women cry would have done it just fine) while neglecting a far more important aspect with implications on the physical condition of the fighter. I'm happy to read that Lucian's feet will be OK for the match, but I'm less happy for the training days he lost and the mental stress: from my point of view, they were avoidable up to a significant extent.
According to Réjean Tremblay, who met him in Florida 2 days in a row, Bute was not stressed at all. More, his camp has been very long and it may help him in the long run to take a break. I think his fans are the ones who have suffered the most!
Yes, I was aware that the break could have had also a positive part and that Bute claimed he felt mentally strong during the stop days. Nevertheless, my criticism still holds, even if incidentally for this time apparently there were no unpleasant consequences (yet I think that a well established initial preparation schedule should have been thought to optimally meet Lucian's requirements, so changing it for any reason would have made suboptimal the whole preparation process): basically, they played with fire and they shouldn't have done that. However, I'm happy to have the confirmation of someone else that Bute is mentally OK and really focused on the coming fight.
http://www.rds.ca/boxe/chroniques/340022.html The referee for The Bute-Froch fight will be Earl Brown (USA). He has a 12 championship fight experience and was the third man in the Froch-Johnson bout. The judges will be Steve Weisfeld (USA), who scored the Dawson-Hopkins 2 fight (not the draw card!), Benoît Roussel from Canada and Howard Foster, from UK. It seems ok to me.
I think is all right also, regarding the referees. The key referee is the one from US. Looking at his picture, confirms the feeling. http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Human:401538

I will try and catch this one on Epix.A 5 o'clock start is a bit annoying though.****'s up the day and an afternoon buzz kills me for my night time activities.
