This is one of the things we should appreciate about Bute. He's brought a lot of fans into our sport who had no previous interest, and when you think about it,that really is quite an achievement. I've got a message for Laffie and I'm gonna post it in a new thread when he gets back. Witnessing some real class here from the beaten fans.:deal I only wish Johnny hadn't died.It totally obliterated the joy I felt after the weekend.:verysad
Yup, the whole French-Candadian community gained interest for boxing thanks to Lucian, that has to be respected. :hat
Yes, I think he will, if at all practically possible. He must. What some people here don't know is how respected and loved he is in Romania, not because of what he has achieved in the ring, but because of his character and moral qualities. Romania badly needs positive examples, and heroes, and whether he wanted to become one or not, he is one, so even if he doesn't do it for himself (and I am not saying he won't do it first-and-foremost for himself) he'll have to do it for his people. He doesn't owe it to the Romanians, but to the Quebecois - his best fans. He's insisted in taking the Andrade rematch, so that's a good indication of what he is like.
Thanks, McGrain! You've always been fair and you sure do know your stuff!:good Now that you're posting on modern boxing again, I can include you in my top 3 on ESB again!:deal
Hollywood should make a movie about Bute and have Jean-Claude Van Damme star as Bute. The movie starts out with Bute the champion leaving his friendly confines to get brutally KO'd in the hostile environment of Nottingham of the ruthless Carl Froch. After, Bute returns a loser to Canada and takes on some role of a crime-fighting Van Damme-type character.
