I felt he won the fight too, but I wouldn't call it a "robbery". Even if you felt he won, fair enough but it's the amount these guys ***** and stop going on about how UFC is fail and they're gonna stop watching. Both guys will fight main event again and will probably rematch, what's the ****ing issue? The word is banded around here so much that it's just lost its meaning.
Yeah, I noticed Rogan was ignoring a lot of Machida's work. I still had Shogun winning, but will have to go away and watch it again with the volume down.
I watched the fight in mute and its hard to see the fight in favor for Machida: key things that should have given Rua the advantage in the scoring 1) Rua was the busier of the two ...seemed to land more 2) Rua seemed to land the harder and more effective blows and hurt his opponent more than he got hurt 3) Rua controlled the pace and fought his fight.... at the 5th round, Machida looked tired like a different fighter than Ive ever seen before, Rua looked the same as he did in the first round. I think body language was big in this fight. The fight started ok for Machida but Rua took him out of his cat and mouse game by taking it out of him with leg kicks. Machida had his moments early with the knees to the body and some head punches, but the leg kicks were the story of the fight and Machida had no answer for them! He was clearly bothered as he ate many to the left leg and body - he would change stances throughout and sometimes seemed to take a couple seconds to shake off the kicks. I scored it 4 to 1 for Rua...could have been 3-2. It seemed like for every blow Machida landed, Rua landed one or sometimes two and he seemed to be the first to get off and catch Machida coming in. Additional final comments: Im a bit surprised Machida had no answer to the leg kicks and impressed with Rua's game plan and persistence. Rua really seemed to study Machida well and came in with a good game plan; he also managed to fight differently in that he wasn't as wild has he has shown to be and showed so decent defense when he needed to.
Mate i havent even watched this card. I said from the outset it never interested me when it was announced and i got laughed off the board. Iv never bought into the Machida hype. This is the reason why. Machida is a good fighter no question about that but too many were quick to jump on the bandwagon for reasons i just could not fathom.
I had my volume down because I thought Dana would make Rogan suck Machida's balls. Clearly, as it finds out, it wasn't the truth. Oh, and you can't really land a hard punch after a Shogun kick. You're most likely will be out of position to land anything from your legs. Also, 1 clean kick to a leg does a LOT more damage than w/e the **** Machida ever landed.
Those shots upstairs from Machida were landing right before some of the kicks from Shogun. I would be thinking "nice shot," then Good old Rogan time and time again would only comment on the kicks by Shogun. I'll reward a clean shot to the face any day over a leg kick. Guys don't get KO'd by leg kicks.
Machida didn't look himself mind you Shogun probably played a large part in the reasoning why. I'd like to see Rashad and Shogun, I have a feeling Rashad would fair better against him then he did against Machida.

Well, Rua never got KO`d by any face shots either & men DO get KO`d by leg kicks, not straight out but by accumulation, especially when those kicks are been thrown by one of the hardest Thai kickers in MMA, Lyoto definitely felt those kicks more than anything felt by Rua. Rua did more damage & won more rds, in a fair world thats game, set & match but the judges had different ideas obviously.
