The Margarito Ban Poll

He has used knuckle pads which are blocks of plaster paris to inflict damage on oponents. Lifetime ban and jailterm if it can be proven that he has used plaster paris blocks to hurt people.

He has lied about what he knows, he has willingly broken the rules, he has attacked cotto for questioning his ban (cotto wants a ban to mean a ban).

This is the sport i love and this message has to be sent out to everybody.

He is a criminal and he has no place in this sport.

I know where you're coming from and you're right... and im not supporting margarito... He deserves to be punished and the one year suspension is fair.. That's all im saying..

 

Boxing at its safest is still one of the most dangerous sports in the world. Add on things like tampering with gloves/handwraps and it just takes it to another level.

People may disagree but i feel not only did Antonio know about it, but i honestly believe it was something they (Antonio and his trainer) did before.

I do not believe Antonios trainers story of "accidentally" putting on the wrong wraps and i do not believe they would attempt to cheat against a 37 yr old who has a 3 or 4 to 1 underdog, but not attempt to cheat against an undefeated and in his prime Cotto who was a 3 to 1 favorite.

Lifetime ban from the sport of boxing for Antonio Margarito and his trainer.

 

A one year ban is **** all. Plenty of active fighters end up with year long gaps due to pull outs. He knowingly went out to possibly gravely injure his opponent by foul means. Taking roids is nothing by comparison. What kind of message would a 12 month ban send? We have a man willing to kill to make his name, thats not right. Boxing is much bigger than TM.

 

Banned for life. How is what he did any different from what Resto did to Billy Collins, other than the fact that Margo got caught?

1 yr seems a bit light, alot of boxers take a break for a year between fight, lifetime is definatley too sevre, 3 years seem perfect to me.
