He won a disputed decision against a b- class fighter and lost by way of TKO to an elite fighter, ie a+.

It's not really that hard to see how he performed on a higher level, just watch the fights.

What is it about Margo that people dislike so much?? Personally, I think he's great to watch. He may not be fleet of foot or possess the skillset of SRL but the man has balls like churchbells, is as tough as old boots, throws bombs with intent continually (at the expense of taking a few) and will keep coming at you all night.

People (a few) go on about his size but the man always makes the weight. Does Paul Williams ever get this much stick over his frame?

margo never got owned or even remotely close to being dominated by santos. he lost a close fight that could of gone either ways, same with williams fight. he's also never mentioned of having trouble making 147 lately. hagler was never a tall middleweight and did very well staying at that weight. because a fighter is tall for a division doesn't exactly mean they don't belong there and it doesn't guarantee victory either.

well said, half the posts in this thread is guys bitching bk and forth to one another:patsch, i don't personally favor margo as a fighter but i enjoy the fights he's in so ****ing what he's bigger than some fighters, its an advantage not unfair because he makes weight all the time and he uses it well:bbb

LoL. These fools try to make it seem as if that fight was close and could've went either way. All they have to do is go on youtube and put the volume on mute. That fight was 8-4!

People dislike him so much because Margo comes across as a guy with limited skills, limited speed, and not even a one punck KO type fighter, yet he continues to prove everyone wrong for the most part.

He was supposed to lose against Cintron, he was then supposed to lose in the rematch, Clottey was supposed to beat him, Cotto was a 10-1 favorite here at ESB. He loses to Williams, but gets back to work against serious competition, while Williams loses to Quintana and then fights journeymen. That gave some William fans a sour taste. Margarito who lost to Williams gets more recognition. Well, he EARNED it.

People don't like being wrong, so they hate. Margarito is usually very respectful if they show him respect, even when he called out Floyd to Floyd's face he did it in a very proper way, unlike the way Tarver called out Jones for example, yet when Tarver did it, he had balls.:-(

The way I look at it is, Margarito is very limited in just about every department, but his heart, determination coupled with his dedication to training, because he takes his job very serious, is what wins him fights,he is the avearge mans fighter, and fighters fighter, what we call a throw back fighter, yet thses bozos can't appreciate that because they are mostly groupies rather than fans of boxing.

    You get it?

i think williams was fading badly towards the end of their fight, but like i said, it could of gone either ways, it was a close fight, but i never said williams was not deserving of the victory. slipknot wannabe

I appreciate what you are saying but no, I don't get it. I really don't get how anyone can dislike him yet love Mayweather, for example. He's a dedicated and respectful guy and I'd have to like him for that alone....nevermind what he brings to the ring!

Margarito's ability to constantly endure the biggest shots from some of the biggest punching welters is why I think most people believe he's big for the weight.
