Read the article on the front page. A good read, and also a good break-down. I wish I had seen more Cunningham fights, so maybe I can make a better prediction, but all I have seen is Adamek, and some highlights of Cunningham. But either way. This is what I originally thought once I heard about this fight, and am sticking to it. Adamek is a good techinical boxer. He is a good brawler as well. This makes him an all around good fighter, and he will be able to adjust, if he has to. Adamek has better speed, he has a better chin, he is not afraid to get hit, comes forward and applies pressure, he has better power, and he is in great shape, and has been staying active. Cunningham has longer reach, can be more slippery, and harder to hit, but has shown he does not like to get hit. That is all I can think of for Cunningham, but if somebody has some more or his atributes, go ahead and post them up. I think while Adamek may be the under-dog here, in reality, I think he may have the edge. Both are very good fighters, so only naturally is the champ regarded as the better one going into the fight. Go ADAMEK!!!!!!:happy:happy
Does anybody know what channels will be showing the fight? Doubt I will get to see it...althought the fight will be 40 minutes from where I'm at, but you never know I suppose.
It's on Versus. I never even heard of the channel, but checked, and was pleasantly surprised to discover my server provided it. Fight should start just over 25 hours from now. GO ADAMEK! :smoke
Nice post. Reading it made me even more fired-up for this fight. I think Adamek might surprise some people tomorrow night.
That is the question for me though: can Adamek adjust if he's being outboxed? He fared better in the final 3 rounds of the Dawson fight, arguably winning them all, but that was arguably due to the fact he hurt Chad in the 10th and Dawson was apprehensive from there on out. Adamek can box--yes, Adamek can brawl--yes...but has he ever managed to brawl a slick fighter that chose to box him? We haven't seen it before. That will be Adamek taking his game to the next level, which I am hoping to see tomorrow night. Btw, weigh-in pics anyone?
I think he will be able to adjust. I am convinced Adamek was just not himself during the Dawson fight, and left a stain in many peoples minds. The problems with the weight, as well as getting sick before the fight do their own things. Adamek even looked pale as hell before that fight. Hopefully tommorow he will make up for it and put our minds at ease. After reading all of the interviews with him, he says he is very confident, he feels great, strong, and fast. He knows he will be the champion after the night is over, and promises to bring the belt back to Poland. GO ADAMEK!!!!!!! :happy:happy :soccerred:soccerred
King has said that Adameks chances against Cunningham are slight and none, and that slight has just left the building so only none remain. Speaking of, I hope he doesnt have his dirty hands in any of this.:think
He tried but team Adamek would have none of it.He wanted rights to Adamek's future fights but couldnt do **** about it since it's a mandatory fight. Don out of spite delayed this fight as long as possible anyway.
Is that what I said? I simply said that if Adamek was his usual self that night I believe he would give Dawson a good run for his money. People have this view of Adamek getting completely out worked and out hustled by Dawson for the whole fight, and base all of Adameks skills and abilities on that one fight, which was on an off night. I think, and most agree that Adamek can do a much better job, if not win. Dawson was the better fighter that night no doubt, and also is a good fighter in general. But sorry to say that he fought a less then 100% Adamek.
Axe, I think Adamek's main problem against Dawson was that, for some stupid reason, he wanted to prove he could box. I really believe had he tried to turn this into a brawl earlier that he would have better served his own efforts. Subsequent fights of Dawson have reinforced this belief for me, in particular, his bout with Glen Johnson. To me, it did not appear Adamek was applying pressure the way he normally would, and I do not believe that stemmed entirely from what Dawson was doing; rather, I think it was a matter of what Adamek WASN'T doing, and if their paths ever cross again, I expect a much more competitive fight, and one in which Adamek will have a much better chance of winning than anyone will probably give him credit for going in. Regardless, it is fight night, and I am psyched! GO ADAMEK!!!!!!!!!!!!
