    That would be a waste of time....

    He wouldn't even be a good tune-up/stay busy opponent.. lol

    Adamek would kill Byrd lol. Adamek was also sparring partners with Shawn George too hah that makes it even more funny.

    Well, beating a former heavyweight champion still is what it is. Would be a nice feather in Adamek's cap if nothing better comes along.

    If Adamek can't land a Hopkins or a Dawson, I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Byrd. Perhaps I'm alone in this, but Byrd does have a certain stature that not many other would-be Adamek victims possess.

    :lol::good

    You know, Adamek had 2 possibilities after Banks fight. Hopkins or 3 fights in Showtime. If he singed Showtime contract, maybe they would choose Guillermo Jones - I read somewhere about that - and make unification fight for Tomasz ? I think it wouldn't be so bad fight in case Hopkins doesn't wanna fight (it seems so).

    Imo Byrd has nothing to offer atm.

    Agreed, but even still, there are certainly worse options out there than a former heavyweight champion of the world.

    Byrd would be probably the worst option.

    Technically he is former HW champ, but it was a looong time ago. He is practically on losing streak from 2006 (Wlad - Povetkin - Shaun George), and he keeps losing to worse and worse opponents. And on top of that he was not attractive opponent even in his prime.

    Before Shaun George, Byrd still could be good opponent for Adamek. Now there is really no point in fighting someone who was KO'd in LHW by average opponent, and didn't do anything to earn titleshot from this time.

    If the money is good? Adamek's promoter said that he may get 1.5 mln
    for Adamek by fighting Byrd ... but I doubt that since Byrd wasn't
    highly matketable champion at HW and his purses were like 300K then.

    From the different perspective ... how do you compare Adamek with Michalczewki
    ........ did Adamek surpass DM in terms of legacy already?

    I think that Adamek hasn't already surpassed DM. They both have been champions, they both have had high skills and belts, they are two different boxers tho. Adamek started fighting in the USA and beside Golota is one of 2 the best-known boxers from Poland in the world, that still fight (let's say Andrew hasn't finished yet). Best boxers want(ed) fight Adamek and imo 'bigger names' wanna do it (vide Hopkins, Byrd). In the fight between them both in prime time of them I'd bet on DM in LHW, but in cruiser it would be Adamek. I suppose that they are at similar lvl atm, but if Adamek beats up some other big-named guys or unify CW division then he will surpass Michalczewski.

    As for today. Byrd is the only possibility. Fight in Poland in june. Unless Showtime will find some other worthy opponent.
