povetkin is excellent, has already several good heavyweight wins (chambers, estrada, byrd, donald) and is improving. he throws fluid combos, has great stamina, and has massively underrated intelligence in the ring. he's strong, and always puts the opponent on the back foot. when povetkin is ready, i believe wlad is in big trouble. wlad is povetkin's target, not adamek. there would need to be a title to match adamek and povetkin. i am a huge adamek admirer, but i think povetkin beats him. when the klitschkos are gone, there are going to be some great fights involving haye, povetkin, adamek, boytsov and chambers. the titles will probably change hands regularly.
Yes, you've made the fact that you don't know anything about Povetkin very clear with you're horribly inaccurate description of him. I have over a dozen fights of both guys on disc & Povetkin and Adamek are exactly the same mold, tough tough men. Are willing to take a shot to give a shot. Try not too trash somebody or label them as lacking heart when you don;t know ****.
hopefully. i am very open to this. adamek was a terrific cruiser and yo never know how he will look at heavyweight. i think adamek beats haye and boytsov and loses to povetkin, if povetkin can actually get in shape for the big fights. i think adamek will do better vs estrada than povetkin did. povetkin was pretty poor that night.
the first povetkin fight i aw, it hought he was rubbish. some cuban southpaw that he beat. but i got most of his other fights and was impressed. i give him greeat credit for beating eddie chambers, a very tricky fighter. povetkin had the flu that night, and he took chambers' heart. povetkin was rusty, not in best shape, but he marched forward and threw 100 shots per round. he also showed smartness. chambers wanted to throw right hand counters, toney-style. povetkin threw combos, finishing with double left hands, which cancelled out the chambers right. i felt povetkin showed skill, excitement, heart that night. but adamek has shown better activity, more willingness to fight world champions, and far better fitness. i believe p4p adamek is better, but at heavyweight povetkin probably is better.
If Adamek is better p4p, than he is also better at HW. Its because they have almost the same weight (around 100 kg) and Adameks one kilogram (or one pound if you prefer pounds) has bigger value than Povetkins. Its how I see the p4p rankings.
But it makes boxing more exciting, these emotions and pre-fight pressure who's better. There are as many P4P rankings as people who like boxing and it's subective for anyone. Personally, I like rankings, but sometimes it gets me pissed if I see Abraham above Adamek for example .. It's a part of boxing. Go Go Tomasz, only 4 weeks left !
well he can definitely beat top 10 fighters, top 5 fighters even, at cruiser. but we just don't know if he can at heavyweight. hopefully he can. if he deals with estrada impressively, he will go some way to changing my opinion.
