adamek stopped fighting like he did vs briggs, when he moved up to cruiserweight. see the masterclass vs o'neil bell, a former cruiserweight champion. bell, the first undisputed champ at cruiser since holyfield. bell, and also the prospect banks, were big powerful cruisers. adamek fought very disciplined fights, stopping both - on his own terms. i believe adamek can use his skills to win a heavyweight title. soon all the top heavies will be small - povetkin, chambers, haye, boytsov, etc. we have already seen the signs: chambers beating dimitrenko, haye beating valuev. adamek can compete with these smaller heavyweights, in what would be great fights. adamek first has to grow into heavyweight, and when he has, the klitschkos will probably be retired. adamek looks too heavy in the photos. he needs some strength, yes, but he'll also need his speed and movement.
he looks like the yaphet kotto (kananga/mr big) character in the james bond film, YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE. he gets shot with a shark pellet, and blows up like a balloon, and explodes. adamek looks utterly bloated. who needs a soft, slow adamek at heavyweight? i hope he isn't making a big mistake, as he is my favorite fighter. i think he will be sluggish vs estrada. i suspected so before, and now i think his next heavyweight fight will not be great. however, i am optimistic, because i think if he doesn't perform well, then he'll lose some weight.
Maybe Adamek retires Klitschkos Tbh, Wlad is at the same age what Adamek, so he will be in the ring for few years more. Klitschkos want big fights, so they will try to fight Adamek. And Adamek will not try to avoid them as Haye, he really wants these fight too, althought he says that he prefers Haye (easier fight)
we'll have to see. perhaps he will be more precise and economical as you say. i was just surprised to see him with big arms and a double chin! if he wants to spend the rest of his career at heavyweight, i suppose he will need to be more solid, he will need to be able to stand his ground a bit more. perhaps it will work out. the good thing is, adamek fights regularly, so he can get used to the weight, or find the correct weight. i mean, how much size and power does he need to beat estrada? then again, perhaps he wants to really inflict some damage on the american, bend him in half...
****, I want to see Adamek vs Haye. It could be the best HW fight since 90's. 2 former undisputted CW champions. They should have fight at CW, but Haye moved up earlier before Adamek became the man in the division. Althought at HW it will be much more interesting, because there wouldnt be any limitations. ****, this fight is more exciting for me than possible Pac vs PBF. I know that Im in minority, but this fight is everything that HW division need. The only sad thing are WBA mandatories (Ruiz, Valuev, maybe Holyfield, etc.)
boytsov is good young kid with heavy hands, but we still havent seen him with a top 10 fighter! His best win so far is taras bidenko! and i dont know how long universum will protect him from really stepping it up !
With height comes weight. Adamek will probably carry more wieght (at 230) in proportion to his height (6'-2") than either Klit at 6'-7" or 6'-8".
I dont think so. Most people on ESB want to see Pac vs PBF the most. I want to see it too, but I want to see Adamek-Haye more. At HW there isnt more exiting possible fight to make than Adamek-Haye. Just two pretty skilled boxers, who like to box.
Yes, unfortunately he (Szpilka) is. His career slowed down. He will probably left the jail in the july, so its only 9 months of his career. Maybe it will make him stronger mentally. I think that he is the biggest talent in polish boxing since Grzegorz Proksa. Actually Proksa will fight for the european title at 29th Jaunary. If you like Tomasz Adamek, then you will like Proksa too. He is very exciting to watch, so there is very big similarity to Adamek and of course he is very good but underrated fighter. Unfortunatelly he is totally unknown in Poland. He has 19 fights (all wins) and he didnt fight in Poland as a pro. You don't know what the hell you're talking about. He had a great fight and was winning vs Virchis till he got caught late in the 12rd. He gave Valuev all he could handle in only his 4th pro fight. He's got good defense and has some slickness to him, his 2 problems are he doesn't have a big punch and he's too brave for his own good. Electing to slug it out with Virchis & Valuev rather than outbox them and take an easy win.
