arreola is clearly a big strong heavyweight, whereas adamek is a built up heavyweight. adamek is a blown up cruiserweight, but hopefulyl he will be effective.

arreola recently almost accused adamek of being on steroids. he called him a "medicated heavyweight" then as a disclaimer added "i mean, it could have been over the counter."

i wonder, if he loses, if adamek is stronger than expected, will he make steroid accuations?

the normally pro adamek bleacher report picked arreola to win, i think due to size and "talent."

Since I just posted this in another Adamek thread, I figured it made sense to post it here too:

    ==============

No, Adamek should definitely not be the favorite.

I'm still leaning towards an Arreola victory myself, but I think Adamek has a chance.

One thing I will say is I have been to several Adamek work outs in the past and I have spoken to members of his team. The Arreola fight is one that they wanted pretty badly, even before the Estrada fight was finalized.

For whatever reason, Gmitruk and the rest of the team were eager about facing Arreola. Do they know something we don't?

    Time will tell.

The thing that worries me most is Gmitruk is no longer training Adamek. He's now working with both Ronnie Shields and Roger Bloodworth (and if I'm not mistaken, Bloodworth will be the head guy in the corner on fight night).

Bloodworth had a chance to work with Adamek a bit for the Estrada fight, and Shields & Bloodworth have co-trained other fighters together in the past, so they have a long history of working together as trainers. If this transition was smooth for Adamek, things could play out well for Tomasz.

If they can help improve Adamek's game, he will have a chance, but I think the absence of Gmitruk in his corner hurts him for this one.

    I hope I'm wrong.

BTW everyone, on the next edition of On the Ropes Boxing Radio, we will have a trio of trainers--including the two men who are currently working with Adamek:

    Ronnie Shields and Roger Bloodworth.

    Just a heads-up! That's on Monday's show.

    :good

Adamek wins that fight. After so many tough fights, he has been to, I dont believe that Arreola puts Adamek sleep. Adamek's punching precision will be the edge.

adamek was really bad against estrada. he was blown up, tired and sloppy. i'm sure he will want to improve upon that drastically. (in his defense, it wasn't a showcase, more like a learning fight.)

he'll have to be a lot better next weekend. i am feeling anxious about it, but i reckon he can do it.

arreola can't seem to make his mind up. he was going to come in around 235-40, and now he won't be any more than 245 because he's in the 250s about now.

he says adamek's going to run, and also says that adamek - a natural slugger - is going to trade with him.

if adamek can be sharp and strong at the weight (let's face it, he was slow and lethargic last time), then he'll win.

i feel it's because there are other threads on this fight, with the fight being close. and because adamek was frankly awful last time out, vs the admittedly spoiling opponent.

probably with HBO televising, ppl aren't making the effort to publiicse it as much.

Adamek seems pretty motivated and ready for this fight.

and the nickname is ****ing ******ed. I'm shocked Adamek agreed to that bull****. But I suppose hes got more important things on his mind now. But seriously... Tom Quick Hands..? How the **** does that sound? Horrible... Goral, even if you pronounce it in english and have no idea what it means sounds better. At least your imagination works. Not Tom qui... alright **** it.

Did anybody even consult him? Next "dowie sie" that they changed his last name, and he became a citizen of Rwanda. wtf

Arreola is gonna get KTFO laughing when he hears this, how the hell does that sound? Maybe in the 50s.. but today. Alright enough on the name change, but just WOW. What were they thinking.

Seriously they coulda done better. They spent like 5 minutes thinking of something? Wow... thats not even scarry or intimidating in any way... its just .... gay. Not to mention the name Tom in english sounds gay too, so thats gay x2 now.

Seriously, like Granite or something. sounds 10000 times better, and isnt gay.

What they know is if Adamek can fight Arreola and win then he should be able go with either Klitschko.
