Donaire was p4p at one point he just came up against a technical beast in Rigo and a bigger, stronger man in Walters.
I dont even count the Lara win myself. Nor do most other people. The majority felt Canelo lost that fight.
Don't think he ever hit the international stage with the fury he was hyped here but holy hell Shane Cameron (NZ) was overhyped, I *never* got it. There was a huge "fight of the century" event put on in NZ for David Tua vs Cameron and honestly 95% of the country were brain washed that Cameron was going to destroy Tua, I just couldn't get wtf people were seeing.... it was as bad as watching a fight involving British fighters with British announcers, but embarrassingly it was here. Yep! If Doniare is on the list, then there is justification for 3G. Comparing resumes, as opponents are concerned, ND has a much better resume than G. Both men are/were damn good though.
He had a padded record at the time which had all the casuals on board even though anyone with an ounce of boxing knowledge knew that Cameron was barely on the level of Mark De Mori/Arnold Gjerjaj and didn't have a hope in hell of making the big time. It was a joke of a fight with an expected outcome.
Donaire...undeserved hype? I can only think of a couple of ATG's in Flyweight history that would beat him.
Do you dumbasses even know the definition of overate. David was undisputed cruiserweight Champ and managed to grab a trinket at Heavyweight, how the **** was he overrated?
