Whitaker is far better than Jones.

Once Jones lost his reflexes he was still good, but not all that. A way past peak Whitaker gave peak DLH fits.

Don't understand people saying Jones here.

He was all about amazing physical attributes. As he got older and started to lose them he has suffered big time.

A masterful boxer always finds a way to win. When he loses those attributes that took him to the top he calls upon other ways to find continued success.

Hopkins and Calzaghe are living proof of this. Two different fighters now to what they were when they were first at the top.

If we are talking about pure technique not fame or other BS I like the following boxers:
    1. Mayweather Jr
    2. Winky Wright
    3. Sugar Ray
    4. Macho Sr.
    5. Sweet Pea
    6. Finito
    7. Iron Boy Calderon
    8. Marquez

NOTE: Not necessarily in that order. Its just a group of boxer that I enjoy seeing in the ring.

Exactly we have someone who knows what they're talking about. What the heck is Jones even doing on that list??? He is not a masterful boxer. He's a guy who was born with a natural athleticsm, catlike reflexes which has nothing to do with textbook boxing. Technically he did everything wrong in there and broke every single boxing rule but managed to get away with it with his natural ability.

I dont include Jones either. But to be a maester boxer you don't have to win them all. There are many resons to lose a fight. Like staying in the game too long or trying to fight boxers who are just too big for you.

Check out Ricardo Lopez tapes. He didnt have much fame because of his weight class, but this is a guy that had master skills. One of the best boxing craftsman I have ever seen.
