IMO, Mayweather, Leonard and Whittaker are of the same general level when it comes to skill. I would pick both the other guys to prevail over Mayweather head to head. All three are in my 'golden six' group (with SRR, Ali and RJJ) of pure natural talent for the sport. You could make a case as to different orders for these guys, and, depending on your viewpoint and weighting, you could say one was more skilled than another. But I wouldn't put them at different levels.
James tony, bhop, pernell, leonard, willie pep, ali, mayweather jr, meldrick taylor(when he chose to "box" and not trade),
i think an underrated technician that people completely overlook is Kosta Tsyzu... He was mediocre, but his timing and adaptation of fighters was amazing. The Hatton fight was bull****. That ref. allowed some of the most awful tactics used in the ring :verysad But the man gets skimmed over all the time. Kosta was great. Watch his fight with Judah. When Judah was on his way to being a "Mayweather" level boxer...just slow broke his ass down like poison.
currently it is Bhops and JMM. of alltime it is "The Harlem Dandy" the one and only Sugar Ray Robinson. if he was behind on the scorecards he would find a way to adjust and win the fight
Toney. Toney runs from no man, and is not afraid of getting hit or knocked down. He is a REAL throwback, a Sam Langford/Jack Johnson type. B-Hops is terrified of real toe to toe action, as evidenced by his pitiful performance against his dad, Joe C. :good
When I think "Masterful Boxer" I don't exactly think BHop. I think "crafty" is the perfect word to describe him. The Masterful Boxer tag would have to go to PBF.
