Joe Calzaghe is the most overlooked fighter of all time.

Whilst Ali might not be the only one who could be considered the greatest..he is certainly up there with the 10 best fighters ever. I cant bring myself to call him overrated..though his profile might be a bit overhyped.

Ali was/is overrated - that doesn't mean he wasn't great. It just means people think/thought he was better than he actually was.

I agree with your reason, I think there are people who dont know the meaning of over rated and thats why they think WTF.

Exactly - being overrated doesn't necessarily take anything away from the fighter - just those who rate him.

    Tyson & The Klitschkos

Tyson was great but people make out he was unstoppable - he wasnt.

Klitchskos get the same thing, because they are russian giants rather than just say theyre good people try and make out theyre invincible, they arent.

Jeff Lacy a few weeks before he fought Calzaghe might well be the most overrated fighter in the history of modern boxing. Someone has to be and I can't think of anyone better qualified.

You are not wrong mate..I just find it hard putting the word overrated in the same sentence as Ali, simply because he was such a proven fighter. Thats not to say people do overrate him.

Sugar Ray Robinson and Rocky Marciano.

Every meaningful pole I have ever read places him No.1 P4P. I have issue with his record, inflated to the extreme. Even after beating Tommy Bell for the title as champion he fought fighters with ridiculous records, some with more defeats than wins, and fought them more than just once. Robinson IS an ATG, that much is true, but not no.1.

Rocky Marciano, placed 14th on an ATG ESPN list. The list was horrible imo but for Marciano to be the 14th ATG is laughable. There's been more than 14 fighters since 1980 that I'd put ahead of Marciano let alone All time!! Never beat a peak ATG, 7 world title fights, thats it.
