The Muhammad Ali-Oscar Bonavena fight.

I had it just like Yank Durham {10-9} for 'Ringo'.

Oscar was 'really' a short heavyweight at......( 5' 10 1/2" )........ on a good day.

After the fight, Muhammad Ali did say that he was 'dazed' by an Oscar left hook in the 1st-Round,
that made him 'blink' a few times.

Round 2

Yes, Muhammad Ali was a 'dirty fighter' as evident by his early Round 2 tactics.

He did score with the cleaner punches throughout the first 2:30 of the Round.

And he did, land a couple of 'sharp punches'.

Oscar was the effective-aggressor in the last 30-seconds.

Yank Durham scored it {10-9} for Muhammad Ali,,,,,,, or 'Cassius Clay' as he stated.

 

Round 3

Again, Muhammad Ali shows he's a 'dirty fighter', by pulling Oscar behind the neck.

Ali does land the crisper punches over the first 2:20 of the Round.

Oscar, who looks slow and ponderous, lands a few so-so punches over the last 30-seconds again.

Yank Durham scored it {10-9} for Muhammad Ali.

At the end of round, Ali points to canvas, in a gesture of letting Oscar know he was going down in the next round.

 

Oh gee, the suspense is killing me. Senor Pepe does 'The Big Bad Ali' knock out Ringo in the next round?! How does the fight end?!

Back to the fight.

Before Round 4,,,,,,,,,Gil Clancy (Oscar's Chief Cornerman) was all over the Referee Mark Conn
for letting Muhammad Ali get away with his 'dirty fighter tactics', like hitting behind the neck.

Oscar controls the first 30-seconds, with smart pressure, and then lands a good left and right.
Muhammad Ali is offering up 'nothing'.

Bonavena, both cumbersome and awkward, lands a hard right at the 1:15 mark, rattling
the former Champion, and then follows up with a looping left to the head.

Bonavena is clearly the 'effective aggressor', and scores with a good right at the
2:18 Mark, while Muhammad Ali goes into a 'turtle shell offense'.

Yank Durham scored it {10-9} for Oscar Bonavena.

 

Round 5

More 'dirty tactics' from Muhammad Ali, as he puts both hands behind Oscar's neck
and pulls down.

Oscar tries to put on pressure, but Ali is able to score from long range with some
good jabs, as he keeps the 'Argentinian Bull' at a distance.

Oscar 'wings' a few punches, but misses badly.

Yank Durham scored if {10-9} for Muhammad Ali.

But Yank Durham noticed Muhammad Ali was breathing very hard in the corner after
Round 5, and questioned whether Ali had the strength to go the distance.

This 'battle' of MONOPOLY was a 'set up' like all of Cassius Clay's bouts.

The 4 year-old was not even ranked in the Top 20 of MONOPOLY Players,
yet the promoters pulled some strings as usual, to get the kid ranked #5.

Cassius Clay won by a 'Split-Decision', but with help from his little daughter.
