He wasn't unbeatable and I don't think that there are many who even make the claim that he was. At the same time however, he has earned his place among the very best of heavyweight champions and should be given decent odds at beating a good portion of the top champs.

    YAWN.....
I'm not Mikey Boys biggest fan..however from an objective view, his reign of terror 86-88/9 was as complete as anyone ever.He didn't have a career defining fight in that era,as no other'great' prime heavy was at work at the same time. It's very rare for truely great fighters to emerge at the same time although it happened in the early 70's.
Mike fought a fairly long list of decent heavys most of whom would have been contenders in all but the strongest era's. It was the destructive nature of many of his wins, that set him apart for those 2-3 years.

Fighting in their primes, no fighter under 200 pounds has a chance against Tyson so we know who that rules out. Ali is the only fighter who I would give a serious chance to beat Tyson in a 15 round fight. Not Liston, why?; Tyson has a better offence than Liston and has a better defence than Liston, Tyson is faster than Liston, has better technique than Liston and is a bigger puncher than Liston. There's no way I can see Sonny Liston beating Mike Tyson. Holmes would never have stood a great chance of beating Tyson; Holmes wasn't so far removed from his prime as people sometimes make out when he was brutally knocked out by Tyson in a vicious display of punching power, and Holmes had always been susceptible to the punches he was knocked out by.
Tyson would have beat Foreman; Tyson was a more effective puncher than Foreman, Tysons punches are faster and shorter, with much more velocity behind them than Foreman who throws slow, wide, looping punches that are easy enough to avoid for any elusive, counter puncher like a Muhammad Ali, a Jimmy Young or Mike Tyson. Foreman would be missing all over the place and catching hard counter shots.

All those listed who Tyson would supposedly have no chance of beating were beaten, dropped, stopped, out-boxed, hurt or otherwise struggled with a variety of lesser fighters than Tyson... but Tyson would have no chance. Right.

During his prime I can see Mariano getting to Tyson. Especially half way through the fight when Maricano is still throwing his power and at high volume which he was second to none at.

Holmes , Ali , Holyfield Win by UD

Liston Knocks out Tyson in 7-8 Rounds as it did Buster Douglas.
Difference is Liston makes it faster and way more painful.

Foreman by TKO 4-6 Rounds , Tyson lands punches but Foreman hit back until
    Tyson is knocked out.

Joe Louis Knocks Tyson out late if he survives the first rounds
    and has the distance.

Bowe is very hard to pick , but he has the tools for Upset UD

    The rest loses.

Of course, but I'm not claiming those guys would have no chance against Tyson.

Larry Holmes would get stopped by tyson 95 / 100 times ,louis had a fragile chin TO take this Type OF power, he had a slow footwork, he could not run from tyson, mike by ko is the most realistic final, they only guys that i pick TO beat tyson 100% sure, are foreman, ali 66. And holyfield. , Lewis and klitschko are. 50/ 50
