Yeah, so imagine if they stay together. Mayweather Sr. will turn Hatton into his son! I was just joking.:good
Hatton was slipping Paulie's shots as he was coming in. For Hatton that was pretty damn good. I think Floyd Sr got him to bring out what he was always capable of but always neglected to do.
I was impressed with Hatton in this fight. He made good use of the jab and did some nice feints. He wasn't catching as many punches head on like he did in his fight with PBF. Just to clarify though can we attribute any of this to Malinaggi fighting like a lame duck?
Anybody agree with my point that Hatton looked more like the Pre-Tyszu Hatton? Just look at his fights with Tackie, he showed good jab, head movement and great stamina in fights like that, and that all seemed to go out the window after the Tyszu fight. I think Mayweather had done a great job in bringing Hatton back down to earth and made him think more as a fighter, got Hatton doing what he was starting to neglect, he has revamped Hatton, my only concern with Hatton tonight was his timing, but i think it got better as the fight went on, so no worries really.
His stamina had improved. But I didnt notice alot of head moment. Still got hit with alot of clean crisp shots coming in. Paulie just couldnt hurt him.
See little improvement but not a lot i mean i kind saw ricky going back to his usual style but honestly he did what he wanted because Paulie lets be honest doesn't have to power to do any damage. But give Ricky some more time with Mayweather Sr. and we would see a new and improve Ricky Hatton.
Looked better than he has for a long time. I think if nothing else that some calm advice in the corner is a good thing. He was less frenzied in there and not smothering his own work. I think it turned out to be a good choice.
He was still lunging with his shots a fair bit but other than that, I was very impressed. Ricky's jab was very good tonight. He was outjabbing Paulie many times in the fight it was amazing. He was also doing alot of feinting. Floyd told him early on to use more feints to confuse Paulie, and Hatton did just that with great success. I also liked the way how Hatton would sometimes make Paulie think he's gonna throw a jab but instead turns it into a left cross/hook right at the last minute. That was pretty smart. He was also more disciplined and didn't rush with his shots. Oh and guess what? his STAMINA has improved by a WHOLE lot. He looked like he could do 15 rounds out there with no problem. And the most important of all. Ricky's holding and wrestling antics have dropped down DRASTICALLY. Paulie was the one who was holding most of the time and it kinda surprised me. I rarely saw Hatton initiate a clinch.
when i saw the clips of hatton training with floyd sr., he really seemed to make a difference. tonight that was just proven. very impressed with hatton. choosing flyd sr. was the right choice.
