atsch are you implying that its not the mainstream fighting sport at the moment? or that its stupid to base a like or dislike on wether its more popular then boxing? in that case i would say its very ****ing easy.... i have no problem with the sport itself, it has its place for non strikers... but the fact people make it seem like its the most badass thing on the planet makes it impossible for me to like it. atsch atsch atsch
UFC doesn't just suck - it's BORING. I can't understand why people would want to watch a couple of guys roll around on the ground. Frankly, I'd rather watch paint dry. It's because the actual "fighting" is so boring that they have to dress it up with all that WWF-style macho hype. Give me the sweet science ANY day over this crap.
MMA SUCKS!!! The only time I watch it is when Kimbo Slice fights. Thats my boy. All the other **** is pointless.
i watched 3 ufc fights tonight while waiting for the skelton fight was thought it was crap. everytime, two guys circles eachother, then got into a clinch then rolled around the floor until one was able to elbow the other in the head or submit the opponent. it's rubbish and i can't see the appeal. i enjoyed the skelton fight as it wasn't as bad as people are making out
That's EXACTLY my reaction. Before I saw this stuff people were hyping it as "brutal" and what not. That was, frankly, a bit of a turnoff, but I told somebody here I'd give it shot. I watched a couple of programs and couldn't BELIEVE how utterly BORING it was. EVERY fight is basically as you describe. Two guys charge at each other, maybe throw a punch or two and next thing you know, they're rolling around on the ground for five minutes. It's dull beyond belief, frankly. The second show I watched, I - LITERALLY - fell asleep in the middle. Now, in 30 years of watching boxing, that's NEVER happened - which should tell ya somthing!
Yeah, **** that ****. It sucked thirteen years ago, and it still sucks today. Watching a couple of guys rolling around on the ground is still BORING, and always will be!! The sweet science rules. Eat **** UFC
