Que? I just had to check Google to see if he'd joined John and George at the great gig in the sky. But he appears to be alive and well lol

There's a certain top level fighter that I suspect may be taking them. His aggressiveness has been replaced by hesitation and faintheartedness. Do you think it's possible to retain a "killer instinct" while taking antidepressants?

There's different kinds with different side effects, don't think it's possible to say definitively or even to say that the boxers lack of aggression is related to the drug? What if it's the depression that's causing it, rather than the drug he's taking to combat it?

The depression is being treated by the drug. If the depression has lifted it most likely isn't the cause of the passivity.

I've personally never taken them so I honestly couldn't tell you first hand if/how they change you or how you feel while on them.

I am assuming it would depend on what type and what strength of medication the individual is taking.

Everybody is different so medication may effect different people in different ways.

I was hoping someone with firsthand knowledge would be able to describe what it's like to fight while taking them.

There are clips on youtube of trainer Stacey McKinley discussing how taking anti-depressive medications totally screwed up Mike Tyson in his post prison career.

It never felt like he had a lack of aggression though? Quite the opposite?

All antidepressents do is raise your floor to median level. So if median level is a 0 - neither negative or positive, just totally neutral then anything below that is depressed and anything above 0 is upbeat/happy. They raise youre depression level to the median nd stop there. Should have no effect whatsoever onna fighters killer instinct. If anything depression probably leads to a lack or lessening of a killer instinct.

Antidepressants have been shown to reduce aggression and improve impulse control in a variety of studies. Not only can they reduce aggression, they can decrease anger.

Maybe, maybe not. Even our best scientists understand very little of the human brain. Anti-depressants are 'best guess' and can cause any number of different side effects.

    depressed Fury

    Vs not depressed Fury

depression is in no way good and taking anti-depression pills to sort out your chemical balance is not a bad thing.
