Just as impressive was Golota's second knockdown of Bowe in that fight. After delivering some brutal headshots Bowe bounced off the ropes and Golota ripped him with two vicious body shots. He fell from those just as much as from the earlier blows. Just beautiful.

I also think Golota beat Byrd on his effective body punching alone. They were the difference in my opinion. At one point late in the fight Ron Borges made the comment that "those body shots are vicious".

And one last point. Did you notice that Golota winked at the referee after delivering two powerful body shots to Byrd in the middle of the ring. It's as if he was saying "yeah, I'm keeping them up this time". Priceless.:good

Not sure what Joe Cool's latest is, but a site that takes boxing to the max, now reports that Shelly Finkle has told them that Peter Vitali is done. The fight will happen before Oct 1tth.

If this is true, I wonder what Golota/King's next move, will be, now?

    Briggs sounds logical, to me.

Golota beat Byrd's ribs all to hell! Such bull**** the guy put his gloves on the canvas on 4 or 5 occasions after those vicious body assaults and not one was counted as a knockdown. :fire

Yeah I noticed the little wink/smile Golota gave ref. Golota has always been a character. Remember when he hugged Randy Neuman after hitting Grant on the break as if to say "I'm SOOO ****ing sorry, please do not deduct another point..."

Bummer. I was starting to get a really good feeling about a Golota victory over Peter. At least now we know Golota has no plans to retire. King has to get him an opponent soon. We're coming up to a year since the Mollo victory....

im glad to see the express is rollin full steam ahead...for some reason briggs scares me more than peter, but to be honest i would like to see him fight the giant! Over the years of watchin golota i dont remember him ever being outboxed in a fight, even the byrd fight. Granted that was a few years ago but still i doubt the giant has the boxing skills to beat golota, i say andrew cops him down to a wide UD

Oh yeah....:patsch For some reason I was thinking Golota and Mollo fought last October but that must have been against McBride. At any rate, Golota is red hot with a 3 fight winning streak and needs to get back into the ring soon. SOON!!!

Ya know what I think guys? I think for the first time in his career, Golota is really enjoying himself. Now that he is older he is so much more relaxed. He does not seem to be as pressured and tense as he used to be. The old Golota always ended up blowing the big ones because he was immature, pressured and lost focus. Today's 40 year old Golota is probably in no real hurry to fight somebody because boxing is no longer the end all be all in his life. Sure, he'd love to win a world title before he retires, but for some reason I do not think it means as much to him anymore, which may actually be a benefit to him. No pressure, no worries, just go in there and have a good time busting somebody up.

    Food for thought.

    GO G-Unit
    GO G-Force
    GO GOLOTA
