Its almost a stright shot back at Peter.

 

I do think it is perfect for both men. If Maskaev wins he beats a ranked fighter and is back in the mix for a title shot. If Golota wins he beats a guy who was just a champ, and sets himself up for a shot. Both guys are too old to wait around fighting bums for another year or two hoping to get a shot. Its now or never time!!!!

 

If Golota Maskaev gets put together, our own Diamond Dave should get full credit when the fight is over, and they are rolling the credits on HBO. :good

Golota Maskaev would be great, as would GOlota Briggs, but in spite of his cocky, bold demeanor, I guess Briggs is still too afraid to get hammered by the FOUL POLE. :blood

 

"Foul Pole" is a good one. I've always liked "Power Pole" and "Pole Axe" as well.

Golota-Maskaev makes a lot of sense right now. Oleg didn't do half bad against Peter before getting stopped. If Golota can knock Oleg out, this will make a statement.

Also, Golota-Grant would be good as well. Golota should avenge a loss he had in the bag before self-destruction. Grant's been a tomato-can winning steak, this will add a bit of credibility when Golota keeps Grant down for good this time.

I guess AG vs Oleg isn't a bad idea. I just meant from Olegs point of view, I'm sure he wouldn't want to get pummled 2x in a row. Thats why a tune-up fight after being stopped by Peter would get him on track. I'd be surprised if Oleg took a comeback fight against Golota.

Plus, it would break my heart to see Oleg get hammered by Golota. He's a decent bloke! But if it puts him in contention to fight Peter/Vatali winner, go for it & I'll get over Maskaev being handed his reitirement papers.

True, Oleg's a good, family man. But don't feel too bad for him, he's already accomplished his dreams (championship belt and $$$). Now let him take one for the team by getting his head pounded in one last time for our boy Andrew. Although I would hate to see any permanent damage done to Oleg. He used to really worry me about continuing on after seeing how easily he was getting knocked out time after time.
