Always found it disturbing that Hopkins never even looked at a Dawson fight, which would have been big money. While i dont rate Dawson, i still feel he would have had a better chance at beating B-Hop, due to his speed and style.

Yet as soon as dawson gets beat, within a week b-hop agrees to fight Pascal.
Now when he whoops pascal he will get credit for beating ''the man who beat dawson'' despite himself never fighting chad. dont get me wrong i think hopkins would have beaten dawson but it would have been a hell of a lot closer than this will be. Just dont get why that fight never materialised

There is something about betting against Hopkins that doesn't turn out well most the time.

Pascal is fast, but most of his punches in the Dawson fight lacked power. I think Hopkins saw that and figures he can rough-house the younger (less experienced) fighter into coming out of his game plan?

Hopkins saw something that made him immediately challenge Pascal. God knows what it was. And yes, his not wanting to challenge Dawson is odd. Especially him being this quick to challenge the man who beat Dawson.

Pascal by clear decision. Not because I think he's great, but because father time catches up to everyone eventually.

I don`t see how, at almost 46 AND IN CANADA, BH could win this.

Hopkins will not get any breaks from the ref and Pascal will give as much dirt back as he'll receive. It will be an ugly, controversial fight and the ref will stop it or Hopkins will get himself disqualified or quit. Pascal by T/KO.

I still can't see anyone between Super-mid and heavyweight beating Hopkins.

Pascal should be careful about Hopkins getting a gift decision, because the only recent gift I can think of in Canada is Guzman against Funeka, and Guzman was promoted by Golden Boy.

Canadian fighters don't get gift scores in Canada. This isn't Texas or St-Louis.

Lucian Bute didn't get a gift scores like you said but he did get a gift from the ref in the Andrade fight.
