You need to understand that whilst Pac has declined, so has Floyd, they're both pushing up in the 30's, it's generally agreed they have both been dulled but this was not the difference in this fight and it never would have mattered if it was 2009,2012 or next year. Neither would the stupid mindgames Floyd tries, it's all a mute point if Pacquiao cannot find a way to fight his fight.

If Pacquiao can't get Floyd out of his comfort zone and the fight is at that kind of pace, he doesn't do a damn thing ever. He has an almost non existent inside game and he doesn't really do well from a distance, Floyd negated the speed factor, Roach needed to play to Pacman's own strengths. Where was the work rate? He followed him around like a dummy Canelo-esque. He just got disrupted turned and potshotted, as many feared, it's not up to Floyd to brawl, he wants the points.

Pacquiao has more wars absolutely but he came back against Rios (tough customer for a KTFO return), Bradley (P4P) and Algieri he did what he had to, look spectacular against a weak opponent. He is much more cautious that's without question but the 'killer instinct' has been there as much as it can be after KO6. Everyone was excited for this fight because Pacquiao looked restored and Mayweather more vulnerable against Maidana, no one can deny that.
