    ya it does...i've seen a lot of fights outside the country, and believe me...nothing compares to when mexicans fight....

    I typically hate racial/nationalistic pride in sports but real talk, Mexicans are on the whole stout-hearted, iron-chinned warriors and it's in their DNA to fight balls out. I don't think they're "saving" anything but they indeed bring much needed excitement to the fights.

    I've always known that the level of popularity of boxing in Mexico has historically been and has always been very high.

    All one needs to do is count how many current champions there are and compare to others. Watch your local Spanish broadcast stations and see how many fights are televised, like the good old days (1980s) in the US.
