With all due respest Bronx, that was no boxing lesson unless you are talking about the fouth round. Inthe 4th "El Atrista" had Maldonado hurt and wobbly, but couldn't finish him. Maldonado demonstrated tremendous heart and recuperation. Maldonado was battering Perez in the 7th and took all the rounds after that, badly hurting Perez with that body shot in the 10th that dropped him. If that body shot would of occured mid way of the round I really don't think Perez would of made it, he was hurt!

Close fight, it could of gone either way or a draw. Personaly I had it even going into the 10th so after that round I had Maldonado taking it with that final 10-8 round in his favor. But to say Perez beat Maldonados culo and gave him a boxing lesson is a complete exaggeration.

BTW, Omar Figueroa beat Perez Culo destroying him in the 6th. Fair and square not even close.

Intrestingly enough I saw a nice PR vs Mexico fight in a bar on Friday (not an uncommon occurance) the only problem is the bouncer was the Rican and the Mexican dude was a regular customer, though drunk as **** he landed the first combo and didnt back down at all (he's is actually a really cool dude) and his rage kept him in the fight for a bit. Well you don't need a crystal ball for me to tell you how things turned out when a sober 6'5 250lbs ex-yankee power hitting prospect goes ape **** on a 5'7 145lbs bar hoping modelo drinking contruction worker. I gotta check the fight out, can I catch it on youtube?

It should be up on YouTube, very entertaining. I've notice you always tell us these tales about Mexas getting beat down in bars by you and fellow Ricans. They always occur in bars, I'm starting to think these are just drunkard tales with no truth to them. Being you are always at bars :think, sober much?

Really? I just shared one other occurrence I personally had at a bar and I pin my victory on my boxing experience and my size.

here are a couple of facts to remember:

I've never jumped anyone in my life

The first time I ever lost a sparring match was against a Mexican

    I'm a functioning alcoholic

My best buddy is a popular DJ in NYC and I (needles to say) get to hit some pretty decent spots on a regular basis.

The dynamic is different out here in NYC then it is on the west coast...Rican's are still top of the food chain here while out in the west coast we are probably in the lower end of the totem pole while Chicano's hold down the fort.

....sure Mexicans and Ricans go at it in bars and sure I tend to frequent the bar scene at least once a week but that dosent mean I'm sober when not in a bar ;)

LOL!!! I was just joking with ya Caper. It takes a big man to admit they've lost a sparring session, and even a bigger Rican to admit losing to a Mexican.

    Respect papo!!!

    :yep

I must admit you did make me sorta re-evaluate my priorities and if I'm posting about brawls more than boxing matches I need to take deep look at my life :think.

The respect is all yours. :smoke

Name me another Mexican Boxer that has been caught in drag?

But you can go out in the streets of NYC and see plenty of Rican kids with manicured faces. They're a dime a dozen, and you know this. No comparison. Plucked eyebrow has almost become a trademark for Boricua men. Scroll back in this thread and you will even see fellow Puerto Ricans admiting it's outta hand. Some say it's just a NYC thing and that it doesn't happen much in "La Isla", but I don't know my friend in Aguadilla, PR tells me different.
