    WBO: No direct Martinez-Burgos rematch

    After a thorough review, the WBO World Championship Committee has ruled that the decision in the WBO junior lightweight bout between WBO champion Roman “Rocky” Martinez and #1 contender and mandatory challenger Juan Carlos Burgos and contested in Madison Square Garden in New York, New York on January 19 th was not substantially irregular or a clear misapplication of the rules of boxing resulting in a manifest unfairness, and therefore will not recommend the WBO Executive Committee that there be a direct return fight.

    That's unfortunate, Yeah I just read that same article...
    Looks like Diego Magdaleno will get the shot Vs. Martinez.

    Last I heard about it WVII don't feel comfortable moving up in weight to face JuanMa at his weight class which is prob going to be 130 & up from now on.

    I think WV will stay @SBW.

    Why you gotta call Rocky a ***** for something the refs got wrong lol? Hes always taking on stiff challenges with his limited skill style. Hes entertaining somewhat. Burgos definitely beat him, I'm not here making a case of the contrary.

    That would really be a spectacular fight imo. Their styles would really blend together for something extremely exciting. WV2 is amazing to me with his no experience looking ass. Making lemonade with lemons looking ass. hahaha

    No for real, hes established himself as a legitimate fighter. Its really impressive. He didn't get blasted out of the water by Donaire which really should be viewed as an accomplishment for him and his team.

    What the... They ruled the fight resulted in MANIFEST UNFAIRNESS but do not want a rematch????

    Why the hell not? This is the chance for Burgos to get his justice. Is this getting a NC instead of the SD?

    Agreed, I wanted to see that fight aswell.
    (Especially with the heat between the 2 guys)

    Hey maybe if Velez pulls off the big upset against the cat in your profile pic, perhaps thats how we'd all get a decent PR vs PR scrap.

    I don't mind Rican's going at it when they are B level fighters.

    However when that rare elite one comes outta the island, we gotta keep them away from each other. Camacho vs Rosario was painful you know?

    Camacho-Rosario is an underrated classic tho. One of my all time favorite bouts. I do understand what you mean but personally I enjoy seeing two elite Mexicans going at it. (Morales-Barrera, Marquez-Vazquez, Marquez-Barrera, ect, ect...).
