Back to topic...I would like to see this but only at 135 (Know its highly unlikely) or at 140 tops...Either way, I think Manny would outpoint him if they fought today! JMM has slowed down a bit...I watched him vs Diaz this past Sat. and I was somewhat impressed...The only thing I didnt like was how he lost a lil speed.

Given his countering ability and his will to win, I thinks he gives Manny fits again, but I think Manny would simply outwork him!

To his credit, Diaz came out and fought a different fight. He boxed more. Marquez was able to rely on his counterpunching ability in the first fight because Diaz threw 100 per rounds. So Marquez had to adjust his strategy slightly. Manny still might beat him but it will be a good fight. Manny will go for the knockout and that will create opportunities for Marquez to do what he does best, Counterpunch.

 

Thats what I've noticed about Diaz in his second fight...He actually tried to box more in that fight...I guess Shields did make the proper adjustments to have more success this time around.

I see your points and I'm inclined to agree with your points...Jmm always will give Manny problems with his ability to counterpunch and exploit Manny's weakness of lunging in at times...but the question remains, can JMM do enough to keep Manny honest and limit Manny's punch output...IMO I think thats whats going to kill JMM in this fight...If he relies on Counterpunching to much I think he will lose a closely contested match against Pac.

I think JMM needs to be selective with his pressure and catch Manny off of fients and going to the body to open up more opportunities to get off on Manny...thats easier said than done!

 

Such a joke, Pac demolishes everyone. The only challenge for him is to fight Martinez, Pavlik, or a 168lber.

But we both agree it'll be competitive. And after Marquez IMO was robbed in the second fight, I think he's entitled to one last fight with his old Nemesis.
