It was a close round...remember, Berto rocked Luis in that round as well. But I agree, it was clear to Collazo. But on that same token, Collazo did absolutely NOTHING in the 5th and 6th and you gave him those (ESPECIALLY THE SIXTH!!!)...how?
He was far from on ***** street Zak...give me a break man. And he clearly had his footing BEFORE making it back to the ropes, using them to gain better balance back (which is perfectly legal and not considered a KD). Your using some MAJOR strawman arguements there. Collazo won the round...but cmon bro, your reaching.
114-113 Berto 1. 10-9 C 2. 10-9 B 3. 10-9 C 4. 10-8 C 5. 10-9 B 6. 10-9 B 7. 10-9 B 8. 10-9 B 9. 10-9 C 10. 10-9 C 11. 10-9 B 12. 10-9 B I had it even going into the last round. Great fight. The point deduction was ridiculous. Berto should have knocked him out when he ripped his guts out in rounds 7-8, he let Collazo punk him and buy time after he hurt him bad to the body.
Well maybe "***** street" is overstating it - but it sure as hell looked to me like the ropes kept him from hitting the deck. Doesn't matter, it wasn't scored, but the guy was seriously wobbled for sure.
What about the 12th Zakman? The ref could have easily called Collazo falling on berto then onto the ground a KD also
Wait a second -- you have the round marked as close on your card, as I did on my notes, and you're giving me a hard time? Yeesh. :?
But then again, that deduction was absolute horse**** as well...yet why is noone bringing that up? There was NOT overboard holding going on...AND Berto wasnt the only one holding. It was disgraceful...and I think he knew it immediately afterward, as he didnt even warn to take one off afterward, and there was more holding from both sides later than early.
I'd have to watch the replay. Didn't look like a KD to me in live action. Even so, the uncalled KDs didn't make the diifference in this fight. Rounds 5 and 6 did. And what bugs me is that these HBO fighters ALWAYS get the call. There is simply not a level playing field in boxing. To win, Collazo either had to blow Berto out every round or knock him out. It's obscene the way the deck is stacked in favor of these HBO house fighters.
