The Pacquiao-Cotto fight should not be for the title if it is not at 147lbs

Thats not really what i was saying at all, so you can go eat a dick. If Cotto's title isn't on the line then that simply means less bargaining power for him, from a financial standpoint in the matchup. It certainly doesn't mean the fight cannot go ahead or be made.

Its only the WBO belt, Manny won't be winning a real, prestigious title, the merit of the achievement is that he is fighting a proven welterweight (a guy who has arguably built a borderline HoF level resume). Its the opponent, not the second tier title.

or you can say, Pac would rather not fight at all then fight Cotto as his real weight...he doesn't seem very confident at all the he can win against Miguel at 100%

stop being a ***** and fight Cotto at 100% and not any integer less

    /...see how ez that is?

Why should it go ahead? if cotto is not willing to put the title in then don't take the fight.

What has he got to prove by beating a midget at 145lbs? Nothing.

So whats he afraid of? If he doesn't believe he can win at 145lbs then don;t take the fight.

  4. Who cares. It's about the fight, not the title.

i unederstand your arguement, but cotto is not the draw or the fighter everyone is wanting to see. if cotto was no.1 then i would say pac should fight him at his weight but he is not. pac wanted 143 now he said 145 so what is the problem.

answer me this. who has the harder task in this fight. pac moving up 5 pounds to fight a fighter that will outweigh him by 10 pounds on fight night, or cotto moving down 2 pounds to fight a smaller opponent.

pac is taking the bigger risk, and risking the biggest fights in the history of the sport, so why the **** should he not put the title on the line.

cotto has all the advantages and he is being a straight up pu##.

That "midget" is several levels above anyone Cotto has ever stepped in the ring with in a pound for pound sense, and he just destroyed the man at 140 pounds, proving himself as more than capable one division below Cotto.

It would absolutely be the biggest win of Cotto's career. Obviously he is afraid of losing, just like Manny is afraid, which is why both guys don't want to give up physical advantages without additional bonuses.

What am I missing here? Cotto is a WW beltholder, the fight is at WW, and Cotto said he has no problem making the weight and that it won't make a difference. So why exactly shouldn't the title be on the line?

His biggest win of his career hahaha.

What beating someguy who has no titles at welter? A guy who has only one single fight as an exhibition match in the division against a dryed up Oscar?

As Ive said before, its fair for it to be a title shot at 145 if its ok by Cotto, it should be entirely up to Miguel Cotto IMO.

Titles do not represent how capable a fighter is. By your logic a win over Andre Berto would be a bigger win, because he is a natural welterweight, and holds the most prestigious title, despite having beaten no one and achieved nothing in his career.

You are full of ****, and a troll, have fun.

If this creates a bit of extra hostility between the two fighters I'm all for it. These two blocks of wood need some sort of subplot.

first off, we cannot blame pac for thinking he is at a disadvantage at 147.

we can't also blame cotto for not wanting to put his title at 145.

so the reason this fight is happening is the money and arum's greed to corner all revenues. this fight shouldn't be happening in the first place because cotto is too big. it's arum's fault, it should've been mayweather, and that's the only reason they are going up. There's no reason (other than mayeather) to go up further because what he did from 122-140 is already great feat

so i kinda agree that this fight should not be a title fight. it's just fair.

    :good

Both guys want to have their cake and eat it too. Its that simple, neither guy is doing anything wrong at this point, but its logical that Pacquiao will eventually win out because he is the bigger name, and Cotto will either have to put the belt on the line, or except less money.

If Cotto accepts it. Then you have nothing to say. :hi:
