Paulie will just tie him up. Hatton is going to eat a lot of jabs and his face will be cut up. And for the record Paulie is considerably faster than hatton so i dont knwo wtf u are talking about. Paulie has excellent hand speed. Power doesnt keep hatton off you..ask Tszyu. Paulie has the size, he is taller and has a considerable reach advantage, again hatton will get caught rushing in. hatton will do some good bodywork inside and the 1st 6 rounds will be like 3-3, then hatton will tire like he has his last few fights and Paulie will win every rd but maybe 1 or 2 from 6-12. Paulie Decision 8-4
Round 9 was the only round in which Mayweather even bothered to really use his jab, he stood his ground pretty much every round as well. Mayweather won by keeping Hatton off balance. Hatton had no idea whether he was going to get hit with a jab to the body, a left hook, or a straight right. He was also able to make Hatton pay for charging with his check hook throughout the night. He was able to rest whenver he wanted and block all of Hatton's shots with his shoulder roll defense. Paulie can't do this. He doesn't have the power, the speed, the footwork, or the defense of Mayweather. Hatton only needs to be aware of that jab. Hatton had a subpar outing against Lazcano, but that's to be expected after losing for the first time like he did. Despite having a sub par outing, he still won just about every round. Paulie, on the other hand, has looked terrible in his last two fights against pressure fighters who are half as talented as Hatton.
Malignaggi added: "Floyd Mayweather Sr. is a better trainer with somebody with speed, Ricky Hatton really doesn’t have those qualities. Maybe some of the things he has learned will work on a sparring partners, but they do not work on Paulie Malignaggi, he is fighting a world class fighter, when you are fighting the best there is not time to experiment with things you have just learned."
I hope you're right. You believe this if you want, but it's simply not true. Hatton is much faster than people give him credit for.And Tszyu is not the type of guy that likes to fight backing up. Paulie will have to fight on his backfoot in this fight. Keeping a guy like Hatton at bay is going to be hard with no power and a lack of offensive variety. Paulie couldn't even win 8 rounds against Ngoudjo or N'Dou in their second bout. I doubt he'll win 8 against Hatton. Again, I hope I'm wrong here because I want Paulie to win. However, I don't see it happening.
Paulie says a lot of things, that doesn't mean that they're true. Paulie has beaten nobody of note. His best wins were Cherry, Ngoudjo and N'Dou, and he could've easily lost two of those fights. Bradley already has a more impressive resume and he just stepped onto the scene. I'm weary of guys who are best known for their efforts in a loss.
Hatton has a good in and out style, this wont work vs malignaggi..he leaps in and throws short fast shots. At range Paulie is Much faster than hatton He did this versus Cotto who is superior to hatton and MUCH stronger. Paulie won 5 rounds versus Cotto, which until margo stopped him was the best anyone had done. I had him winning 8 and 7 rounds in each of those fights as did some other judges. Ngojdou is a pretty high quality fighter who was robbed against castillo. So no shame there. Also when Paulie 1st fought Ndou he amde him look like an amateur. I appreciate your comments here and I know you are always good fro a response Bigreg, but hatton isnt as sharp as he was in the zoo fight. His last couple outings he has looked poor.
Why? If the Malignaggi who fought cotto fights a shot version of hatton, Malignaggi is almost certain to win....
Compare where Paulie is as to where hatton was when he had 25 fights. hatton was fighting total cans. Paulie took on Cotto when he had only 21 fights. i totally disagree with Bradley having a better resume. he has almost no one of note on his resume.
Malignaggi fought a weight drained Cotto who was lethargic and he still got beat up. You say Hatton is shot, yet he looked better in his last fight than Paulie did in his last two fights. I'm sorry, but I don't believe Hatton is shot. Hatton still has good foot and handspeed, and is still a good body puncher. I've seen Paulie get hit with too many left hooks and Ngoudjo almost had him out in their fight. Floyd Sr. can make a big difference over a short period of time with a fighter. The old Ricky was good enough to beat Paulie. With better training and a smarter gameplan, I don't see him losing. This is boxing though, anything can happen. Hatton may in fact be shot, Mayweather my have done more damage than good, Paulie might sit on his punches. Who knows? However, if I was betting on this fight, my money would be on Hatton.
Bradley's two best wins were Witter and Cherry. Witter is certainly better than N'Dou or Ngoudjo. They botht fought Cherry, and Bradley looked more impressive against him. They both also fought Donald Camarena. Bradley was more impressive in that fight as well. The Witter win holds a lot of weight and gives Bradley the edge over Paulie.
Wtiter is not a great fighter. Witter has fought more cans that Hatton did! Ngoudjo is going to soon be the IBF champ and would beat Witter fairly easily. I dont know how you can argue bradley looked better in either the camarena or the cherry fight as Paulie didnt even drop 1 decisive round versus either guy. Witter struggled terribly versus Ndou. Paulie in fight 1 took every rd and even knocked him down. and to top it off even though Paulie lost to Cotto he still took a lot of rounds and that in itself is something bradley has never dealt with.
