EXCELLENT Post!!!:good Naturally, I agree 100% about Pawel needing to refine his game & most of all learn some better punching technique! & stop with the "face first" attack he impliments. Lets hope he gets the help you suggested so he can move up a notch quickly.
Rafał Jackiewicz is fighting tonight for the EBU against a knockout artist Jackson Osei Bonsu. He's a 4 to 1 underdog.
Is it televised on some obscure US channel (like MSG)? :hitit I know its in Poland so chances are slim.
Yep, & Kostecki won by 1st round TKO over a guy who was 16-0! Jackiewicz wins EBU welter title! By Michał Koper / www.bokser.org Rafal "Braveheart" Jackiewicz (32-8-1, 18 KOs) captured EBU welterweight belt defeating reigning champion Jackson Osei Bonsu (28-2, 23 KOs) over twelve rounds on Sunday in Kielce, Poland. The quicker Pole boxed intelligently winning most of the rounds, and floored the champion in the seventh with a left hook. Bonsu had his moments in the fifth and especially in the twelfth, when he turned southpaw and landed some heavy punches. However Jackiewicz managed to survive the Belgian's attacks and scored a unanimous decision 114-113, 117-110, 116-112. Also #9 WBC, #7 WBA ranked light heavyweight Dawid Kostecki (28-1, 20 KOs) won by TKO in the first round when his opponent Marcelo Leandro Da Silva (16-1, 11 KO) could not continue claiming a knee injury. The show was promoted by Bullit KnockOut Promotions. Monday, September 15 2008
Nope, his opponent twisted his knee in the 1st minute of the 1st round. No single punch landed in this fight by any guy. It should be no contest.
It have to be some kind of misunderstanding PP couse he's definetely not this kind of fighter. He's a technical boxer-counterpuncher with nice movement and defence who trades only from time to time. In his fight with Bonsu he won with his skill, speed and counterpunching ability. he's a crafty guy that's for sure. Bonsu is a really good fighter but with his crude style and wide looping punches he was an ideal opponent for Jackiewicz. Great fight nonetheless.
Maybe i have him mistaken with someone else. I do know that despite his record Polish fans do highly respect him for some reason....and we know that some of those fans are dicks and or just haters(some Poles dont like to see other Poles succeed). He shot up the BOXREC rankings dramatically after this big win and i read today that his manager/promoter said they will drop the Euro title because of some offer that came from the WBC. This kid had alot of bumps in the road early but has bounced back pretty good in recent years.
Yeah, he's a respecetd guy. Fought some good opposition, lost most of them but some were home decision in favour of his foes. He wasn't as dedicated in his early fights as he is now. They probably dro the EBU title if WBC will let Jackiewicz fight in an eliminator.
