man dissappointing night overall I'ld say...Diablo got a close decision against someone he should have dominated if he wants to be considered a top dog at the division Wawrzyk almost got KO'ed against a total bum in the 1st rd...but ended up winning and Hutkowski got a draw agaist a semi-decent Frenchie
Wlodarczyk is capable of more, evident in his fights with Fragomenni. It looks like he simply didnt want to commit because Robinson wasnt aggressive. Wlodarczyk noticed after a few rounds that he is landing cleaner punches and his opponent is content with the way the fight is going so he decided to continue throwing occasional but precise single punches and cruising to a safe UD victory. Dissapointing from a fans perspective but an easy pay day for Wlodarczyk and succesful defence under his belt.
I'm not sure, even with Fragomeni he needed two attempts to win convincingly. You may be right he was just content to cruise to a safe UD, especially knowing he fights in his backyard, but it doesn't change much. I mean, one would expect from a top fighter rather to dominate Robinson completely or stop him, not win an UD in a competitive fight.
Agreed. Włodarczyk gives what he needs, nothing more. If oponnent ain pressing the action, wlod is happy with slow pace and few punches per round. If his rival attacks non stop (fragomeni) he adapts and accelerates himself.
I thought Włodarczyk won comfortably last night, but it wasnt an easy fight. Seemed lots of Włodarczyks shots were absorbed by Robinsons gloves, although some did get through. Was an OK fight, but I think Włodarczyk could have looked a bit better.
Diablo fought a good fight. He was leading on points and didnt want to risk, as he is in the S6. Robinson proved that he is better than his record shows. Its a step-up for Wlodarczyk, since he has been fighting nobodies for a long time.
If you follow his career you should know that Wlodarczyk had competitve fights even with medicore opposition. And by competitive I mean he allows opponents to take rounds as long as he knows that he is controling the fight and winning on score cards. After 3 rounds of Wlodarczyk-Robinson I knew exactly how this fight was going to look like and end. If Robinson decided to ress the action more and go after Wlodarczyk, he would get knocked out.
Actually most Wlodarczyk shots did get through, he was the precise puncher and punched harder. Robinson threw more but most were blocked or there was no power behind them. I'm pretty sure that Robinson threw more punches but landed fewer.
You may be right, I wasnt exactly sober watching the fight, haha. From when I was watching I do remember being frustrated at time that seemingly a hard shot that could have done good damage, keeps landing on the block of Robinson. No doubt many shots got through, but iirc quite a few really nice ones were blocked. Włodarczyk ate his share of lefts from Robinson as well, but you're right, he definently didnt inflict as much damage, although may have looked busier at times. None of Włodarczyks shots also seemed to have hurt Robinson, although you know they had lots of power behind them, because it was clear Robinson was respecting Włodarczyks power. Didnt see the other fights, but the Hutkowski fight wasnt very good and sloppy. Wasnt a good fight, or performance by Hutkowski imo. Was a draw, afterall.
I noticed this with the Robinson fight last night, that Włodarczyk would always answer back stronger and better to anything Robinson threw at him. Everytime Robinson had a moment, a second later you would get a strong reply from Włodarczyk. He wouldnt let Robinson get the better of him. Takes it, and gives it right back stronger.
Even Robinson's trainer said that the 115-113 score was generous. Whats the scoop with Masternak, Proksa, and Kolodziej. Masternak was suppose to come to the US and fight a decent US fighter Eric Fields on the Adamek\Maddolone underacard, but the latest is that it fell apart. Proksa should be fighting in Nov.
Damian Jonak 27-0-1(19) is taking on Jose Luis Cruz 41-6(33) Oct 16 on TVP1.....should be a good test for him.
Right now out of everybody developing im looking forward to seeing Masternak keep moving up. He is a good fighter, and getting better, and I think has the most potential. Jonak is fun to watch, itll be good to see him again. I havent seen him fight since he drawed Cendrowski tbh, and I was pretty disappointed in his performance that night.. When is Szpilka supposed to get out of jail? He seemed pretty promising until the ghosts of his dumbass past came back and bit him in the ass.
