The right cross always seems to catch me unguarded.

On a serious note, I always got hit with a right hand or a left hook (I box southpaw). First it was left hooks, then I got the hang of those, and right hands started to land straight in my face.

So you decided to stick to boxing? How's that going? Or are you all football now?

I'm all football at the moment, yes. No time for boxing now, football leaves no room for other stuff.
I also have a talent for football I never thought I had, my friend (who got me started) says I'm 400x more talented as a footballer than a boxer... I run fast and smash people. :D I'm simply having the time of my life.

I might get back to the ring for a couple fights, but I recon I'm winding up doing MMA along with the football. I like crushing people, not boxing them. :)

You're playing American football? Why, dude? Rugby is actually available and is so much superior to football. What position are you playing? Maybe it's just living in the US, it's made me sick of the NFL and that stuff.

Are you kidding me? Rugby is alot slower, and you don't hit as hard. People talk about the no padding-****, but that accounts for less hitting and more simple tackling. Don't get me wrong, there are some hits now and then, but not like you regularly see in football. The padding/helmet also adds for harder hitting because you feel invincible, and not to mention the speed one hits at because each play is all-out, full ****ing speed. There are also less restrictions in that sense because of the armor.
And wearing the armor feels badass, too. You feel like a gladiator, it's just unreal!
Also: how many people have died playing rugby? Practically noone.
How many die playing football? Tons. :D

Rugby isn't really a sport for aggressive, fast twitch-people such as me like football is.
I watched rugby live, and it just bored the **** outta me. The first time I watched simply a football practise I got excited beyond belief. My first day at football practise was seriously the best ****ing day of my life!
I mean: it's like war. You suit up and you're either on the defensive or the offensive, always trying to outmaneuver your opponent with different plays and strategies.

I play Wide Receiver (X/speed-receiver) and Safety, I'll hopefully be playing runningback after this season, gotta get some experience first, since I just started. I also play on special teams, kickoff. I've been a starter every game though, playing through every game to the end.

See, I played football for a year in High School and hated it beyond belief. To me it was always a simplistic, basic collision sport that didn't require very much. That and the idea of getting blindsided by some linebacker or getting cut low on and having me knees taken out by some fat ass lineman wearing more body armor than a Marine in Baghdad didn't appeal to me after my first year doing it. The flowing nature of rugby, and the other stuff involved, just caught my eye more...maybe because we're not innundated with rugby in the US, but football is everywhere you turn.

Yeah, probably. I'm not dogging rugby at all, it's a great sport.
And there are monstorous hits that occasionally do happen there, too.
It's just that in my opinion there is no comparison, football is THE sport.
It requires tons of skill, speed and strength. If you lose focus or make a single mistake, you'll get smoked!

It's kinda fun being blindsided, you hug the ball all you can and prepare for a flight. :D It's kill or be killed, that's what I love about it.

I get hit right in the nose with those damn over hand rights every time. The one time I sparred someone who had a lot less experience than me, I took it easy on him, but he kept throwing those efing overhand rights, 2 out of the 3 punches that landed on my head were those overhand right crashing onto my nose.
