I'm so on this thread. When he was down, his legs were kicking. That's because his brain, after the impact, lost normal function, and started sending random impulses to his skeletal muscles. That's the sign of a very serious brain injury. He got up anyway, and wanted to fight on. I will always respect Fernando. Always.

    agreed.

by the way, didn't margachito break rasheed holloway's orbital bone during sparring and in 24/7 he said after he got caught for plaster of paris, he thought margacheato may have used them against him in sparring...

and then margacheato gets his orbital bone broken....what goes around comes around?

but yea, respect to montiel, guy has unreal heart

I'll always have a lot of respect for Fernando. He's a true warrior, and a lot more intelligent as a fighter than people give him credit for. Getting up from that left hook was just, well, words cant really describe what that was. But he deserves immense respect, and I hope the fight hasn't taken anything out of him, becaue if it hasn't he still has a lot more to offer.

It's hard not to feel bad for him getting dropped like that. He seems like a nice guy.

I have so much respect for this warrior.. I'm still shocked on how he was able to get up from that monstrous left hook he took. It just shows that he has a true Mexican spirit in him. Maybe Mexicans have it programmed in their head to get up after a crazy knock down i mean look at Marquez, Barerra, Morales,

I hope he reads this thread somehow. I think it would mean more to him than the $250,000 he made.

    Good thread.

I was really worried for the little man going into fight, and as soon as that vicious left-hook landed from Noni, my fears were made reality. Watching his body shudder on the floor was frightening, and for me it was worse than the Williams and Hatton ones put together. Thank God the referee reacted quick enough when the fight resumed. It could have ended badly.

I hope he recovers from this and we see him back in the ring soon.

I hope. I always wonder if other fighters see things like this. You hear a lot of them bring up the hate they get, I just hope they realise that there are people out there with immense admiration for them.

True warrior and I hope to see him back soon. His stock hasn't fallen, in my eyes. There's to shame in being beaten like that, to a fighter as good as Donaire. Here's hoping Montiel can bounce back, better than ever.

You don't become a three-weight class, 2x SFW champ by not being a warrior. Much respect to Montiel.

I don't want to jinks it, but I'm so glad I haven't seen any of the glassjaw thread nonsense yet.
