He returns on the 26th against an African who some have said can provide a tough fight to Vassell. It's been about a year since his rousing battle with Lee Purdy in a domestic FOTY candidate but unfortunately hes only had one outing since then against an overmatched Brazilian on an off TV card.

How do people rate this guy against the other top WW in the UK? Hatton has a 2 of the top guys in the domestic 147 scene in Watson and Magic Matt so that limits his options a bit but how do people see him doing against the likes of Jennings and O'Donnell? I certainly feel Theophane and Brook would be too much for him at this stage anyway.

Looking forward to seeing him in action again though and hopefully an impressive performance will boost him to be talked amongst the likes of Watson and Brook.

Anyone got any thoughts on the chief-support fight as well? Liked the look of Matty Askin when seen him before but no nothing about his opponent Neil Dawson.

Been a couple poor Sky cards recently so hopefully this one will provide some top action. :good

He's pretty good IMO. Though I suspect I overrated him a fair bit when he was a prospect.

Good scraper could make for some interesting domestic fights if he gets in the mix

Agree with the posts above, maybe a bit early to write him off for bigger things beyond Brit level as hes still a baby in boxing terms. Have to remember hes only had 1 fight scheduled for 10 rounds or more and that was his fight with Purdy. Looks like we're getting an African who can test him as well so it should be another valuable learning fight. Bob Shannon trained Nuumbembe when he lost to this Ushona and he reckons it'll be a toughs night work.

    Whos your mate?

Should definitely be a good show, Rhys Roberts on the undercard as well, hopefully Sky show some action from his fight.

Looks like a good card. All 4 of the main event and co-feature fighters are undefeated and the African guy is meant to be decent.

Vassell's only had 16 fights and had only being fighting 4 and 6 rounders before the Purdy fight. Hopefully it was a good learning experience for him doing 12 hard rounds and he gets better.
