Froch problem is that in his last but one fight he lost to the #3 guy (no #4 guy) that Ward beat comfortably.
Why is Ward no.1? He has only fought one meaningful fight in the super 6. He might as well not be in it. I can't wait till Froch beats him.
It's my opinion that Froch probably just about deserves to be number one, but it's not that wrong to have Ward there. He beat Kessler when Mikkel was generally considered number 1, whereas Froch lost to Kessler when he was considered about 3rd or 4th.
as Roe said I get why people say Froch is number 1 but Ward has a dominant win over the guy Froch lost to so it makes sense to have him ahead. Kessler was recongnized as the number 1 by everyone at the time and Ward took him apart. Also Kessler and Dirrell shouldn't be ranked as the technically retired.
other issues with the ring ratings are; Danny Green No.6 at Cruiser Pawel Kolodziej ahead off Steve Herelius, Alexander Frenkel, Ola Alafoabi. Nathan Cleverly no.5 at Light Heavy, Karo Murat no.7 at Light Heavy ahead off Beibut Shumenov, Gabriel Campillo and Jurgen Braehmer. Kessler and Dirrell still ranked at Super Middle The middleweight rankings where to start. NO GOLOVKIN!!!! David Lopez.....who the hell is David Lopez http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?cat=boxer&human_id=42862 is ranked 8th ahead of Gennady Golovkin, Roman Karmazin, Marco Antonio Rubio, Lajuan Simon, Giovanni Lorenzo, David Lemiuex, Fernando Guerrero, Andy Lee, Darren Barker, Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr. Sergeii Dzinziruk is only number 8 at Light Middle??? Cintron is number 1!!! Rhodes is number 4!!! Alvarez is top 10!!! Randall Bailley need to be top 10 at Welterweight Victor Ortiz is not in there top 10 at Light Welterweight John Murray is ahead off Juan Diaz, Robert Guerrero, Miguel Vasquez, The ring title would be contested for by Mzonke Fana and Ricky Burns. Surley they would be the worst lineal champ in history. Uchyama should be number 1 he is only at 4. Orlando Salido as number 4 featherwieght?? Bernabe Concepcion is in the top 10?? Vasquez Jnr only number 9 at Super Bantam?? Nehomar Cermeño only number 6 at Bantamweight?? Darchinyan still at Super Bantam, Donaire is number 4 there!!
What's Golden Boy Promotions relationship with HBO and Showtime? Am i right in thinking GBP shows are almost exclusively on HBO? Given that Golden Boy own The Ring and Bute has just left HBO for Showtime, could this maybe in some way a fall out from that??? I don't really know, i'm just asking the question :huh
Goldenboy have a certain number of dates on HBO but they still do shows with Showtime. Also Bute is not with GBP.
Neither fighter has retired (what is the definition of "technically retired"?). Kessler said he is waiting for his eye to heal (time will tell whether he fights again) and Dirrell has been quoted as saying he's looking for a bout in March. In those circumstances its quite right both fighters get ranked at Super Middle IMHO. I can't recall any other fighters who have been in similar situations over a similar timescale becoming ineligible for ranking?
