Then he might actually have time for his family and I am sure they want none of that. Maybe he can keep posting and get Floyd and Bud to raise his kids?

A seasoned vet won a close fight while Loma who hadn't been over 4 rounds had Salido begging for him life in t6he 12th. Bad comparison. But yeah/ At least Floyd got the W. The only difference he is Maidana had the balls to rematch.

Some people actually believe Floyd lost to Miadana the first time as well as the first time to JLC. I wasn’t one of those fans but I know both of those fights were extremely close and could have gone either way. Just like the Loma/Salido fight. I had Salido winning but many fans had Loma edging out the win. All of the fights were close but they all took on the same tone....the more skilled boxer had difficulty with the rough and rugged brawler and made for an ultra close fight after 12 rounds.

That's why I like Blizz around here. Not only is he amusing on his own, but I get to see you tee off with one liners like that ;)

Lomachenko did not lose to Salido, he lost to Laurence Cole and corrupt officials and it was still a split decision...............hope to see a rematch ASAP!

I can kinda see both sides...

On one hand, regardless of the shadiness surrounding the loss (weight, dirty fighting, reffing, ect), it is still somewhat disappointing that someone of Lomas pedigree couldnt overcome a shopworn, past it Salido, in what was supposed to be a coming out party for Loma.

That being said, fighters improve. Is there really any doubt that Loma hasnt raised a level since then? Is there really much doubt that todays Loma would completely dissect that Salido? (again, a faded Salido) Does a fight from 3.5 years ago really matter today?

Should Loma go on to do great things in the sport, only the fools and obvious agenda blinded haters (well, I guess those are the same thing) will cling desperately to an early Salido loss.... but should he not fulfill the potential he has, or loses again in a similar manner (dirty trench war) the Salido loss probably will stand out more and cast a shadow somewhat on Lomas legacy.

I think it will just depend on how Lomas career goes from here.

So for me, should he have been able to beat Salido? Imo yes. Is it a knock on him that he couldnt? Imo yes. Does that exclude him from becoming an ATG? Absolutely not and to think so is laughable really. Does the Salido fight from 3 years ago matter much when estimating how good Loma is today? Not imo.

Does the loss matter when judging him on the P4P status against Bud for example? Like Bud's fights from 4 years ago are being used to show why he belongs there.

Lomachenkos has only had 11 fights and has already won two world titles in two different weight divisions................Tevin Farmer won his last fight, but lost on the judges cards, yet fans know he won the fight. Pac surely beat Bradley, Pac beat Horn, Castillo beat Void, so did Oscar...................Void got credit for beating a non-fighter with a 0-0-0 record, making his boxing debut, etc., no, Lomachenko beat Salido in spite of being fouled all night...........................the loss was to Laurence Cole, the worst referee in boxing, not to mention corrupt judges, except one...........

Jack Reis is a very good ref. He has a certain amount of ego but usually does a decent job. The same cannot be said of his judging. Most of the top refs do have an ego and would much rather ref than judge. It gives them more of a challenge and a greater sense of responsibility and involvement in the fight. Being a top ref does not necessarily translate into being a top judge. He proved this by only awarding 4 rds to Loma in this fight. Loma won a minimum 6 and even 7 and the only way you could not have Loma winning is 1. Counting punches landed by Salido as scoring punches which landed outside the scoring area. 2. Failing to score rd 12 to Loma by 2 pts which all 3 judges did. Ries was the biggest offender in counting foul punches but had he reffed the fight he would certainly have come down heavily on the low blows and would have at least deducted 2 pts and possibly even dq Salido. A lot of the blame for Loma getting cheated in this fight should be shouldered by Arum. He should have know better than to take inexperienced Loma to Texas where he knew he would have the despicable Cole as the ref.

stop it....every fighters losses or close fights get scrutinized..stop whining....but if you get all the praise that he is getting you would think with just 11 fights he would be 11-0...just saying
