35 year old coming back after what 7 years out, what weight is he even going to make these days? What are his actual ambitions, to fight for a title again?

Im right behind him but just dont see it ending well, hope im proved wrong.

  2. Just watched the Ringside interview on Griffs thread but wish I hadn't.

If anyone thinks this will end in anything but tears then they are deluded.

The man has no life in his eyes and is only doing this for money. He will get seriously hurt against the first decent opponent he faces.

    Keep the memories Scott.

    You could be right, BUT

Scotty is a hard *******, hes made of strong stuff. Its probably my heart ruling my head, but Scotty was a mad boozebag & still managing to defend his world title at the end, maybe JUST maybe now that Scotty isnt on the swally? Maybe the best is yet to come!

Listen its well known he was my boxing hero, so cut me some slack for hoping against hope, I actually felt quite emotional when I first saw him on ringside talking about fighting again, I ****in adore the guy:deal

I don't see this ending well to be honest, but hopefully I am wrong. If the discipline and training have got him focused and away from booze and all the negative things that affected his life before, then great.

Hopefully he can make a decent bit of money too.

Ive been told that Scott is still training with the same intensity and sparring with the same ferocity, but whether that equates to the timing being there on fight night...............
    I really, really hope so.

Scott was weighing around 150 when he got released, so hopefully the delay in announcement was due to them taking their time to get the weight down slowly and sensibly, to see just where he could get to before making an announcement. From those pics, I hope he was just finished training, as he looks drained, very drained.
I too am AMAZED he feels he can get to SFW.

Billy Nelson would know better than me, but that time Scott had to withdraw from the fight being unable to make weight, that he couldnt get anywhere close-within 7lbs of the weight!

I know AAA was sparring last week, so must be continuing to fight, so hopefully Scott gives him a pasting somewhere down the line.

Scott and Alex are ment to be stable mates but that will change quickly if they were to ever fight,Scott only managed 9st 9lb when last trying to do Featherweight has he started to burn in to muscle, imo he may just make Lightweight prob LWW.

You also have to remeber, that when he was inside he was still training so he woould have been in good shape,i was told that he was running half marathons inside ! make of that what you will ... with him signing with Frank Maloney,i wonder how he will promote him to be a world champion...no doubt the Burns fight will be mentioned in certain circles cause there both scottish ,i think Burns would box clever and pick him off if it ever happens ...

That's what Sports Network were initially saying but Harrison said on a television interview that the contract is 'invalid.' I'd have thought that he'd have been on next week's Braehead undercard if SN still had promotional rights.

I'd hardly think FW would go public by saying Scott's under contract if he wasnt!
    Time will tell:good
Most important he goes to the gym and gets ready to do what he did best fight

Guys - you need to change your way of thinking...

End in tears? Its already ended in tears this is a great chance for him to get his life back on track and enjoy a good final few years doing what he loves.

Thats a brilliant oppertunity not many people get, so many people on this forum have this half empty approach- not just to boxing but to life. Life is a blessing as are the oppertunities that it can present it.

Its unrealistic for Scott to come back, its unreaslistic for a college drop out to lead one of the biggest companies in the world, its unrealstic to make a light bulb, its unreaslistic to make a piece of metal fly etc etc....

Good luck to him and i'm glad he's getting another oppertunity. He might never hit the same heights but who gives a **** as long as he's on the straight and narrow and enjoying life again.
