Still nothing on the horizon...he's managed by Ralph Heredia... http://www.boxrec.com/list_humans.php?human_id=508371&cat=manager Who only has one other fighter, an undefeated super featherweight being matched against another unbeaten fighter this Saturday on what looks to be a far from rounded-out card in Beverly Hills, California. Perhaps he can squeeze in a spot for Sharif. :happy
I saw Sharif fight on the undercard of Prescott-Vasquez and he looks like he has great potential. He also has one crazy ring walk thats for sure count me in on this train :thumbsup
don't mean to derail it but its too early to jump on the bandwaggon, fun to watch though thus far carry on! that was just some debris on the track CHEW! CHEW!
Dude, guys like Solis and Gamboa had bandwagons before they'd even turned pro. Nothing wrong with highlighting the path of an exciting prospect. Even if he turns bust, we'll enjoy the ride. Lots of popular fighters who aren't ATGs have Expresses. Really popularity is the only criterion.
Looks like our boy is inked in on a Zab Judah undercard on Friday, November 6th. :happy As is Joel Casamayor...and both are fighting the same opponent. Busy night for old TBA.
It looks like he'll be falling right back into his monthly return pattern, as his next scheduled date is on 12/12 with Ramon Montano, 17-7-2. :good
Damn it!!!!!!!!!!! Second time in a month he's had a cancellation (this time the entire card was scrapped). Poor kid can't catch a break. :-(
OK...don't want to jinx it, but...he's scheduled tonight against Cristian Favela (has gone the distance - usually 10 - with lots of good B/B+ talents with only one of his 22 losses by stoppage; held fellow tough journeyman Noe Bolanos to a draw). :happy Let's hope this isn't scrapped at the last minute!
Maybe regional. :conf It's in Commerce, CA. Edner Cherry and 11-0 bantamweight prospect Leo Cruz are on the card as well.
Bogere wins by UD6! (no shame there, Favela's virtually unknockoutable) Cherry wins by TKO3! Cruz wins by TKO3! ...Bogere vs. Cherry in 2010? :think Any pics vids or analysis from anybody who was there live at Commerce Casino would be much appreciated. :good
BTW, Cristian Favela's one "stoppage" loss is complete bull****... It should read as a DQ, not a TKO. (Actually, there were TWO times where the ref could have - and should have - ruled it a disqualification victory for Zavaleta :yep) He was very much in the fight with Zavaleta, and was in the act of throwing a punch when he lost his balance - the ref even appeared to be ruling it a slip and encouraging the combatants to resume action without a ten count - when one of his cornermen inexplicably climbed into the ring! Observe: [yt]Dz0wGF6hOmE[/yt] At 2:34 is a blatantly intentional headbutt by Favela - many officials would rule this a flagrant foul and disqualify the fighter. You can't chalk it up to the ref not seeing it, either - as he calls for a timeout, admonishes Favela and apparently deducts a point. He jerked his head in the direction of Zavaleta's face. Whatever, moving on to DQ #2... At 2:58 Favela charges in with a combination of three wide punches. Zaid Zavaleta throws an overhand counter that misses the target - actually his forearm grazes the top/back of Favela's head (reminiscent of the Green-Jones KO), which throws off Favela's equilibrium as he is in the middle of throwing a wide lunging punch with his feet in a wide stance and not properly set. He pops right up, clearly not hurt, and the ref grabs his gloves, foregoes a 10-count (thus tacitly ruling it a slip), and entreats the fighters to fight. WTF is the cornerman doing in there??????? Cornermen making a cameo in the ring = disqualification. Am I wrong?
This content is protected "Sharif Bogere 136.25 vs. Christian Favela 135 " A pound and a quarter overweight. Hopefully just a fluke... "Sharif Bogere (13-0, 7 KOs) of Las Vegas won a unanimous decision over Mexico’s super tough Cristian Favela (17-23-6, 10 KOs) in a fast paced six round lightweight contest. Bogere scored more blows but it was Favela who landed the bigger punches. In the end the referees scored it 59-55 twice and 60-54 for Bogere." Desperately hunting down some images or videos of the action...
