I had it exactly the same as Jim. I thought everything he was saying was spot on. Also agreed withe everything Paulie said.

Halling is poor. Sky need to do better than him. Jim Watt is ok when he is alongside a strong commentator who challenges him a bit. Somebody needs to be there to reel Jim in when he gets something in his head and won't deviate from it no matter what's happening in the ring.

Their commentary recently appears to follow a distinct pattern: identify the boxer who performs better over the first four rounds; focus on that boxer's successes for the next six rounds, while ignoring their opponents'; around the 10th experience a sudden epiphany that not everyone will have scored the bout the same as you; mention the 'other' boxer a bit more for the last few rounds and begin self-righteously banging on about a potential 'robbery'.

It's not that Watt's scorecard was ridiculous - it was acceptable - but they insinuated Bradley should be a mile ahead while simultaneously stating that a lot of the rounds were hard to score. They also said nothingas Marquez landed clean shots on a few occasions - just dead air. And then kept mentioning how the pro-Mexican crowd may influence the judges.

You can call a score correctly and still appear to hold a bias, consciously or not.

Missed it last night but I always get the same feeling. Both disgracefully biased and unfair but the other guy is worse than Jim Watt. I remember in the Burns vs. Beltran fight where Watt was biased but still in the spectrum of reality and the other guy was basically trying to make out Burns had won.

    Always the same. Pathetic.

Agree with OP. sky commentary was a disgrace.

I remember in between one of the middle rounds they harping on about how marquez couldn't land a single punch and how bradley was dominating... But the slow motion replays for that round were being shown on the big screen and to all e broadcasters - had marquez landing at least on 3 occasions in that round alone.

Bradley won, but there was a clear argument for closer scorecards especially as bradley was a bit negative at times.

I was particularly dissapointed with the usually excellent paulie malignaggi and richie woodhall inputs - woodhall in particular seemed blinded last night

I agree. The commentary was very poor. Even though Bradley was looking good, the reality is I was giving JMM rounds early on. It was only by the 6th that Bradley had opened up a 4-2 gap for me.

I also expect that if Sky have someone scoring the fight then their scorecard should appear at the start of every round and quickly justified just like they do on HBO.

Watts scorecard was pretty much spot on. Bradley beat Marquez on workrate alone, people are trying to score rounds for Marquez for 'clean effective punching' but most of JMMs power shots grazed off Bradley, nothing was landing flush.

Marquez must have know he was well behind after 8 rounds, totally switching style and trying to march Bradley down. Not congratulating Tim after the fight and whining about a robbery was ridiculous.

People seem to think that commentating and being 100% impartial should be the norm.

You must be ****ing kidding yourselves.

I understand completely why impartiality ISN'T the norm. But why SHOULDN'T it be?

Because it doesn't work that way. You are effectively wanting the commentators to be absolutely perfect and devoid of having any potential bias. It will never happen.

It commentators were completely down the line and showed no hint of bias it would be ****ing boring to listen too.

Completely agree feel bad saying it but Nick Halling is truly awful and shouldn't be allowed to commentate on Boxing. Jim Watt is fine and actually puts Halling straight a lot of the time. Please get Ian Darke back Sky.

This Marquez fight, Quigg vs Salinas, Burns vs Beltran cannot hane anymore biased blind commentaries from Mr Halling.

Glenn McCrory also before the fight was insistent Marquez was going to win even saying 'the smart Mexican fans were betting on him late, they didn't do that with Canelo'. Absolute rubbish....

Give us a break Sky, gets some decent analysts. Paulie Malignaggi is good so get rid of these ex-middle of the road boxers who talk nonsense and add nothing.
