Kris 'Badger' Hughes is a terrific prospect coming through at Bantamweight. 10-0. Out again on the 16th in Glasgow. Definitely one with a huge future I think.
wouldnt really say Olusegun is British but he fights outta Britain so he gets my support. Also love how NO ONE has mentioned Fury and for good reason. If Fury wants to be taken sirously then he better start acting like a Pro, we expect boxers to be athletes (even heavyweights) not flabby ungainly oafs!
I am soooo excited by the current state of British boxing and it's potential future. After the end of the road came to our last set of top class British champs and world belt holders I was worried that we may enter a dry spell and was far from convinced about the fighters ready to take the challenge on to become the next set of world challenging British fighters. I believed that Calzaghe, Woodsm Hatton, Witter and the fighters who were at the end of a glorious career like Thaxton would be missed and not replaced. Never would I have imagined that Haye could genuinly become a dominant threat at heavyweight. Froch has ****ed all over what JC achieved already. Khan is godly and Brook, Clev, Groves, DeGale, Gavin, Bellew, Sexton (BOTH), Mitchell and hopefully Barker are ready and look capable of going on to great things.
The future of British boxing is looking very bright Personally I thought Haye's performance was excellent (although not flawless) but also it was a very exciting and entertaining fight. I wouldn't write Haye off against either Klitschko,or to put it another way, if Haye can't beat them then no-one can IMO.
