i hear you brother...and going by that line of thinking i can't argue with you.. but what about fighting for a world title belt, regardless of who holds it... and..i was thinking after hopkns fight..to me a tarver fight was naturally more ligitimate than roy jones...but not in money terms... i'm not explaining myself right i think...but i know what i mean...i think ;-)
I think he's great. Could listen to him all day. There is nothing about his tv program i don't enjoy. My favourite analyst from tv (Brookly1550 KO1 Steve Bunce).
I know what you mean, Jones is shot and Calzaghe is just fighting for his retirement fund. I can't argue with that!!!! TBH for JC 175 is a bit of a wastleland, the young guys don't have a name or reputation and the guys that have a name are either shot (Jones, Tarver) or already beaten (Hopkins). When these fights were announced I was hoping for Calzaghe-Pavlik, a good name and a big money fight for JC but Hopkins got there first!!
Doorbell, i think you have small man syndrome and need the internet to shout from. Nobody is perfick, including bunce. He may have bias, dont we all ? He loves the sport and that will do for me.
Everyone here was slating Bunce about how much **** he talks, until he started getting the big names on his show.
Yes, before he started the show, all I would read on here is how people couldnt stand Bunce (definitelly the majority of posters here). Now he a big hero. My only quarrel with Bunce is his excessive cheerleading for some British boxers like Haye and Froch. Those guys have enough PR as it is, I would like to see some impartiality.
I'll be honest I didn't like the guy when he was on the Beeb shilling for Audley Harrision when he first turned pro but the Setanta job seems to suit Bunce much better, he can get away with revealing a bit more and can get a bit more in depth with rumours and bxoing in general. Hes far from perfect and his habit of starting along one line of reasoning and carrying it on and on even its quite obviously wrong can produce some really strange statements, but on the whole I'd say the show is very good and good for British boxing fans.
