I think DeGale and Groves have been matched tough throughout their short careers. The Groves/Anderson rematch is required to clear matters up
Well Sartisons last loss was to Mikkel Kessler and has come back with wins over Gevor and Bozic whilst Balszay got knocked out by Stielglitz and lost to Gutknecht Ill eat my words if im wrong, i mean i picked Hatton/Cotto to stop Pac and Katsidis to beat Burns but im confident in Sartison winning
Sartison is coming back to world title contention is what I meant. SES most likely sees Sartison going further than they do Balzsay based on recent performances. And it's all SES to manage. Show me your scorecard for Lucas-Beyer and then we'll talk.
George Groves vs Kenny Anderson 16th Mar 2012- Groves Arthur Abraham vs Piotr Wilczewski 31st March 2012- AA (If this is the same guy that I think it is, didn't he get KO'd by Curtis Stevens in the 1st round or something a few years back? AA is gonna steamroll him, which seems to be the plan.) Robert Steiglitz vs Mikkel Kessler 14th April 2012- Kessler Kelly Pavlik vs Scott Sigmon 14th April 2012- Thought this fight was off. James DeGale vs Cristian Sanavia 21st April 2012- DeGale(but wouldn't be shocked by an upset) Karoly Balzsay vs Dimitri Sartison 21st April 2012- Sartison Lucian Bute vs Carl Froch 26th May 2012- Bute
Although I agree with the absence of Ottke opening the division up for unis, to say Ward not fighting Bute, for what has been only 1 fight so far, is ducking on anything close to the levels of those days is odd.
Point is that saying Bute is not worthy enough to fight Ward when he will more than likely fight Anthony Dirrell next is a blatant duck. Remember its not the belt that makes the champion, Ward could have fought Bute in a Unification and then a rematch with Kessler and clean out the division and move on up to 175 where he could challenge the Dawson/Hopkins winner, maybe a fight with Tavoris Cloud and then Cleverly/Shumenov but no
I think this duck stuff is nonsense TBH. Do you think Ward is ducking Bute because he is afraid to fight him? Their whole stance is all about money and future business. Both guys have contract situations with Showtime. We do not know the ins and outs of this. Bute has 1 fight left with Showtime, which is why they passed on Bute-Froch, and Showtime has an option on Ward.... this is all part of the game. By the time Ward-Bute rolls around, it could very well be up for the highest bidder(HBO/Showtime) or possibly even PPV.(which would suck, but that is how the game is played.) Why settle for 1-2 million now, when you can wait a year, and get twice that, if not more? This is not even factoring in a potential Kessler rematch prior, where they are reported to have offered a large hunk of cash to come over to Denmark.(that is a whole other story) What happens if Ward and Bute sign to fight in 6 months? If it is a stay busy fight, whomever Ward fights in the interim would mean nothing, as I don't think it will have been a case of Ward ducking Bute to fight that person. It would be a stay busy fight, or a fight to make some $, while waiting for the mega fight. What if he fights no one in the meantime? And if Ward-Bute gets made for late 2012 or early 2013? Would he have ducked him then, only not to duck him later? After he has beaten the most formidable foe he has faced? It can only be called ducking if they never fight, or if he ends up facing him on the slide or after something develops that will make the fight less meaningful, i.e. a loss, a severe injury, a lay off etc. In meantime, I am willing to reserve judgement, not capitulate to knee jerk reactions and wait to see what develops.
I never rated Hatton at all but I thought he would be too big for Pac, and picked Hatton as well. I also picked Cotto to beat Pac and Katsidis to beat Burns. Point is Jordan if an expert like myself called those ones the same, you shouldnt be too harsh on yourself. This new thread based on the SMW division, giving up and coming matches and results will show how all of us call these fights go
So many years ago since I watched that fight. I would like to watch that one again along with Larsen/Ottke and Markussen/Ottke
Yeah Wilczewski did get stopped by Stevens, but I think he is better than that. Alot of fighters suffer early setbacks. I think he was a bit overawed that night and learnt from it.
Thomas Oousthuizen has a proposed fight in America 27th April 2012. Any ideas of potential opponents?
It needs to be a a prospect known in US at a certain degree or a known veteran who decent enough. Someone like: Dyah Davis Darryl Cunningham Enrique Ornelas Librado Andrade Lennox Allen Marcus Johnson( prob. most unlikely one ) Mike Paschall Probably someone of that list.
