I don't like making lists but this being Decebal's thread, I'll make an exception, as long as I'm allowed to stop at 5. 1) Kessler 2) Andrade 3) Bute 4) Taylor 5) Bika I think Andrade is a better fighter than Bute, not because he beat him or was robbed or what not - he didn't. Bute beat the count and won fair and square; the referee didn't give Bute more of an advantage than any other home fighter would get in Britain or the USA, for example either. I think Andrade is better because I think he would knock Bute out in a rematch. In my view, he underperformed more than Bute and his fight strategy was worse than Bute's, even though Bute's made it harder rather than easier for him. I also think he would do better against Kessler than Bute would. Andrade is getting better and better. I'm not sure Bute is improving at the same rate. What is certain is that Bute's weaknesses (his lack of an inside game and his submbition to pressure) are more significant that Andrade's lack of defence.
naaah. He has the desire. Just got ill before this past 'sparring' match he was supposed to have on 11/11. Looks like two fights will happen in Jan/Feb and then there is talk about a title shot by mid year. Hopefully he will get it together next time he steps in the ring for a huge opportunity and not look like a fool.
Yes... He would consider 175lbs if the opportunity came about. He can make 168lbs, just needs to stay in better shape in between fights. He is staying in Puerto Rico these days going to the gym daily waiting for a fight to be worked out. After the Banks fight (and most others) he went to his home town in Colombia and did not take care of himself. He showed up to training camp for the Abraham fight at an embarassing weight. I hear he is broke and hungry. I am not sure what this will mean for him, but staying in shape is key for his future.
Someone who comes off the streets like that should not allow himself to become broke after earning so much money...I hope he gives much of it away, and I don't mean on drugs, alcohol and hookers...
From what I am told he doesnt blow it on partying. He supposely bought himself a nice house in Barranquilla so he always has a place to stay. He also gives away a lot of his earning to people that helped him when he had nothing. That nice and all, but he needs to look after himself to and save. He comes across like a tough talking thug (and ******* to some), but the truth is he is a real nice guy. Always playin around looking to make people laugh and loves to help out people in need.
Hmmm...good luck to him, but SMW is a strong division, and he's not in the Top 10 as things stand...:verysad
I don't agree with Andrade being in front of Bute but you bring some solid points. I would like to say Bute's strategy was very bad for me. First, he's not good at clinching, letting Andrade throw uppercuts and tire him. It was much more easy for Bute when he stayed away, and he was capable of doing so. More, He did not went to the body at all. It is Lucian best weapon. Why not use it? I'm still asking myself. In all his previous bouts, the % of bodyshots were impressive. Against Andrade, niet. Andrade says next time he will knock him out earlier. He forgets one thing: he tried to do that but was not capable, until Bute was exhausted. Bute didn't use all the tools he has in his box. So I keep Bute number 2 and Andrade number 3.
