Not much on there at the mo', had computer problems for a while. All sorted now and a few days off work so I endeavoured to get some stuff up.
It's tough even these days to find a lot of vid on asian fighters, especially SEA, so anything you put up would be very cool. Like a lot of Americans, I knew almost nothing about Asian fighters until I saw Khaosai knock out Isreal Contreras back in the mid 80's, and the commentator mentioned a few names. Since I stumbled on ESB a few weeks ago, it seems like I have years worth of catching up to do...
Just uploaded Contreras sparking Vasquez Sr and Khaksai's twin Khaokor wasting some chump. Check 'em out :good
It rarely does, but I box it into a smaller pic and they look ok. Just watched Contreras/Vasquez. Not many more devastating one shot knockouts ever. Makes the win by Khaosai even more impressive in my book. BTW...my wife asked me if I'd seem most of the fights you posted. I said less than half, "does that mean I'm losing my TV for the rest of the day?" "umm...." "Tell the FleaMan he's off the Christmas list"
Ok, here's a question for you, Flea. Just watched the Khaokor fight you put up. Identical is exactly right. He looks EXACTLY like his brother, which makes me wonder... Do you think that because of his brother's success, there might have been some pressure put on Khaokor to be his stylistic twin? Just noticing that Khaokor didn't seem to have the same footspeed, the same ability to move in and out and avoid punches. Of course he didn't appear to have really needed it in this fight, so I may just be getting a false impression.
Yes, that is a false impression IMO. Check out his second fight with Sun-Kil Moon or his fight with Wilfredo Vasquez. He is far better at all those things than Khaosai, here was just in with an undersized guy. Young Terror: sporadic watermark from the free program I use. If you want it without, contact the sites mentioned in the YouTube summary :good
Read the summaries before you watch. One of my most event uploads starts something like 'very dull fight'
What sites are they? I only asked cause i watched the Bozza Edwards-Elizondo and the Kobayashi-Katsuma(or something like that) and it didnt have the mark. Anyways thanks for uploading these gems :good
Watched the Vasquez fight, just because I'm familiar with him. Very impressive. First to go head up with Vasquez on the inside early in the fight (Vasquez was a murderous inside fighter), then the ability to completely switch tactics and go outside where he was clearly superior fo the later rounds. those later rounds showed what the first fight I watched did not. Great footspeed and body control. I haven't seen enough of him to be fair about comparing him to his brother, but the dude is one hell of a fighter.
