    5 de Mayo

France loaned money to Mexico and Mexico refused to pay the money back. France sent troops and lost the war on 5 de Mayo. Is this what Chicanos celebrate? Thievery? Figures.

Schaefer and Showtime's greed have destroyed the once proud weekend for Mexico, where the Mexican fans could cheer for their fighter in the main event.
This has become a F'n joke!

Correct, and as to your confusion about it being such a big deal...here comes the real shocker, it's not a big deal in Mexico overall. Cinco De Mayo is actually an American celebration of thanks to Mexico, as that victory denied the confederates help from the French. Cinco De Mayo is only celebrated in the area of Mexico where the battle took place, and is not a national holiday there.

Did you forget it was a quadruple-header PPV? :huh Or that Periban is Mexican?

Periban, Molina, Collazo, and Maidana lost.

In fact, if you want to make it about Cinco De Mayo then only Periban and Molina are relevant as they are the only two of Mexican descent in the bunch - and Periban (the one you omitted ) the only actual Mexican.
