I said I would wager you avatar rights for months that the Patriots, will not be champions this season. They are past their best, and no longer championship material. They fact they they cheated for years by filming the oppositions signals in my opinion slightly taints their legacy.

Now, will you step up to the plate and take the bet? I will include crow as part of your avatar. Deal?

A lot of good and some very good teams won't be champions this season. Frankly, the product of the NFL kinda sucks this season. I think the league is set for a bit of a decline. This past Sunday was almost unwatchable.

I'd rather watch footie or some old Joe Louis tapes.

I would tend to agree. Besides, come January when its colder and you need to run the football and stop the run, I think the Patriots will be less likely to succeed.

My point to Suzie was the New England glory years are well behind them. Would you agree with that?

New England Patriots have a very young team and are 6-1. They also have 8 picks in the first 4 rounds of next years NFL draft so they are set up for the future. They also have Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Stop the hate Mendoza. Give credit where credit due. In a rebuilding year, the patriots have the best record in the NFL at 6-1.

Ps you see the latest news? New England stole a 3rd rounder from Minn for nothing! LOL, in fact Moss might be heading back to new england if he makes it past waivers!

I don't see how one could possible call the new england patriots
"past their prime", when they have one of the youngest teams in the NFL, and have 8 picks in the first four rounds of next years draft including TWO first rounders. Patriots are building for the future. They will be good for a LONG time.

A few things, then we can take this part of the thread to the lounge.

1 ) When was the last time New England won a superbowl? 2005 is the answer. 5 years have passed. Their window of opportunity has closed.

2 ) They lost a ton of good players on defense, and only Mayo is a worthy replacement. While draft picks are nice, the draft is more of a calculated gamble.

3 ) Their Rb's and WR's are no-names. Teams will figure out how to shut them down.

4 ) While they are doing well now, no trophy is handed out in November.

They are still very much in the mix. Injuries largely determine who excels in the stretch. Chairman Bill is a genius at finding nonames and retreads to buy into the system and flourish. This always gives them a chance despite injuries. Remember a guy named Wes Welker? Jetsam from the mighty Dolphins? Three seasons of over 1100 yards and 100 catches later...

Patriots 39-26 over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field!

Mendoza....Did you see that display by Tom Brady against the "vaunted" steelers D at Heinz Field last night? As long as we have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, we are always super bowl contenders. We also have a lot of young players who are making signifigant improvement each week.

Patriots 7-2!!! Are we still on the decline Mendoza? When are you going to give us our respect?

Here is what you had to say earlier in the week

Care to eat your crow Mendoza?

Patrick Chung is not a worthy replacement? Devin McCourty is not a worthy replacement? Two future stars.

The Steelers D certainly did a fabulous job shutting down rookie TE Rob Gronkowski last night...Gronk torched them for 3 touchdowns.
