Obviously the Dillon fight is a stand out performance but couldn't mike be a bit to defensive at times didn't it cost him the middle tittle against mcgoorty as the fight went to a no-decision .

Yeah, he is. Let's agree to disagree. Whitaker doesn't have many names on his resume, still probably a Top 20-25 kid though.

 

Rosenbloom is probably worth mentioning.

 

So why does Oscar get as much credit for his win over Paez then?

 

Personally I have no idea , paez was a former feather champ and not the biggest feather at that and de la Hoya beat him up at lightweight and paez was about four years past prime at least

I find little to seprate Jofre and Pascual Perez other than Eder's great comeback.Perez was a monster.

Was Shirai as good or better than Caldwell or Caraballo, lora ? Really a question since my knowledge on Shirai is zero.

 

Just in career arc, quality of opposition, talent and skill...all slim margins of difference one way or the other.

Jofre takes it with his comeback added in, but Perez was a similar legendary fighter in his day to all who saw him fight.I'd ideally like to have seen more of both of them too, which might make them close as well in my mind.
