Who gives a **** about Carlos Monzon, why don't you just bring out the dozen other examples of boxers being disrespectful towards women in history. It's besides the point. The article addresses a current and active boxer that's in the limelight whose history of abuse has, for some reason or other, been largely brushed under the rug. This is coming from a society that scrutinizes every aspect of our top athletes lives with a fine toothed comb. Floyd seems well enough to dish it out, let him face the music.

    Guy is a dirtbag.

Sadly, it's pretty common for boxers to be woman-beaters.

I realized a lot of my favorite fighters were woman-beaters, or had at least one incidient involving violence against women.

What anti-domestic violencesong was he talking about when he said Mayweather came out to the Corrales fight? I remember him coming out to Overjoyed by Stevie Wonder

Floyd's problem is that he's too good.

And before I get called some hilariously stupid name like "*****", hear me out (for the record Pacquiao is my #1 all time favourite boxer).

We all, including myself, say **** like "Mayweather's fighting ___? That's stupid, it's an easy win". We think it's an easy win because Mayweather SHOULD easily win, and you know why? Cause he's THAT good.

Let's look at a few of the names we pass off as bums when they fight Mayweather. De La Hoya, Hatton, JMM, Mosley, Victor Ortiz, Cotto, Robert Guerrero, Canelo, Maidana. This is an absolute superstar run of opponents. Guerrero and Ortiz are slightly weaker, but they are still highly popular names in boxing. He removed Ricky Hatton, an all time great English fighter, from his undefeated streak. He did the same to Canelo Alvarez. He gets next to no credit for his accomplishments, and the people that do give him credit are too stupid to actually put across their points properly.

Even his next fight. Maidana went in there like an absolute warrior, and in a lot of people's minds, mine included, MIGHT just have edged the fight. Now I predict Mayweather to right that wrong and absolutely smash him for the entire fight. We have a problem with this, even though Maidana may well have won and now Mayweather gets to prove that he's better than what was shown. We have a problem cause we think it will be one sided. We had a problem BEFORE the fight thinking it would be one sided. It just keeps going and going (also similar enough to Pacquiao, who is point blank not allowed to defend his title against anyone and HAS to fight better fighters every time in the eyes of the fans, me included).

This being said, going off of the title, do you guys think we saw a weakness in Mayweather Vs Maidana. In my mind, I kind of realized that Mayweather had never really faced a scrapper. It was always boxers like Alvarez, whom he could easily slip the punches from, or boxer punchers like Cotto. Maidana is JUST a puncher, and it gave Mayweather loads of problems. I can't help but think if we got a bull who is in your face throwing hooks like Maidana, who actually has power (something Maidana lacks), Mayweather might have been stopped. Is there any old school fighters with the power and similar style to Maidana who you think Mayweather would have lost to?

Mayweather is a great fighter, but Maidana is more than a puncher. He methodically walked Floyd down in the first fight.
